I froze a tub of yogurt a while ago because there was so much of it and I was afraid it’d go bad while I was away on vacation. The problem is I thawed it yesterday and used a tablespoon or so while I was cooking. The salan tastes and looks fine, there’s nothing wrong with it, but the appearance of the yogurt is putting me off a little bit. It’s completely watery with white flecks in it and I’m wondering if I should just throw it out. I don’t think I’ll be cooking anything with yogurt in it for a while, so I don’t know if it’s ok to just keep it in the fridge or re-freeze it. Can I use it to marinate chicken in? What do you think I should do? Please help.
Re: Frozen yogurt
off topic but I totally thought this was about frozen yogurt-the ice-cream like dessert <3
Sorry can't answer your question, I have no experience with freezing yogurt
Re: Frozen yogurt

Re: Frozen yogurt
Whoops, sorry about that! :)
Re: Frozen yogurt
If the taste is ok and u froze it less than a month than it is ok, u can blend the yougurt and make kerhi (salan) with it or use as a marinade.
Re: Frozen yogurt
Ok, thank you for the advice! Though I think I froze it 2 months ago in the beginning of January. I don't think I'll take the risk, I'll toss it this time...
Re: Frozen yogurt
Toss it, your gravy will always have those 'white flecks' even if you use it..
