Frothy desi style beaten coffee

is to die for :hayaa:

So I take 2 heaped 2 teaspoons of a good instant coffee [for 2 people], add 2 teaspoons sugar and 1 tbs water, beat with a spoon in the cup until it turns creamy and thick. Boil 1 cup water and 1 cup milk together and dicide beaten coffee into 2 cups. Pour the milk over it!

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

I dont think Ive ever had this…must try it. :hmmm:

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

basically the poor man’s espresso for the crema :stuck_out_tongue:
so if you have a good espresso machine, and then add the espresso to milk, you will have the same result.

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

Yes of course!!! They used to call this expresso coffee in cinema halls back home :D

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

woww … you just reminded me to the hostel times … girls used to beat the freaking kittens out of the coffee and then would add milk or water and it turned out super frothy :lifey:

I loved it , though making it was hard job … can the beating be done with a beater?

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

We can beat the instant coffee too? I didn't know that. The instant coffee we get here has sugar added. so what do i do? :-\

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

That's fine Hadeel, just add a teeny weeny bit of water and beat. CB, the fun is in the manual beating :D

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

all the fun's in the beating

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

Oh yeah, this is the way you do it if you don't have a coffee machine. I do quite like it although nothing beats a real latte. Need to find myself a coffee machine!

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

lol That's my Hubby's specialty and for some reason his turns out more frothy then when I make it. Maybe he just beats it better then I do. Btw I add only Hot milk to mine..yes it fattening but yummilious....

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

My MIL used to make coffee like this...I used to like it.

:)

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

oh I have had this.. this is soo yummy!

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

hmmm wot abt the nescafe coffee milk powder. i use that to make coffee.. cn that have the same bubbly effect niks?

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

heavenly.... but serious effort if you whip the coffee yourself. If you don't got a expresso machine - try the hand held mixers.

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

I make it the same way....the only difference is that i use electric beater as its quick and easy :p
and yes.....i use just milk when im in the mood of a full creamy latte :)

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

Not for many of my Pakistani relatives. They still think beaten coffee is better somehow…:bummer:
I love my espresso machine for the rich and silky coffee after dinner.

Re: Frothy desi style beaten coffee

I don't think you can make froth without an actual coffee machine, the beaten coffee isn't frothy, it's creamy and more like a latte.
