From the wall of a Pakistani govt. office...

Saw this notice, clearly painted in large letters, on the wall of the driver’s licence office of our area…

(rough translation…original notice was in Urdu)

If any employee of this office attempts to ask you for a bribe, please write a complaint, and mention your name and phone number on it, and drop it in this dropbox. Thanks. [Signed by the local SSP].

There was an old metallic dropbox next to it, which was locked.

I don’t know if people actually complain or if complaints are acted upon, but seeing that notice made me feel very good… I thought…atleast our government officials acknowledge this problem and are trying to solve it…

p.s. mods, if this is not the appropriate forum, please move this thread to where it belongs…thanks…*

Re: From the wall of a Pakistani govt. office…

Now i doubt any one will use it

:bravo:

Re: Re: From the wall of a Pakistani govt. office…

Why not? Don’t underestimate the Pakistani nation, brother.

We are both Pakistanis. I would use it. Would you not?

Thats really interesting!!
Its nice to know we still have some high level govt officials who are honest with their duties :)

^

:) Just the presence of that notice though, kashish, does not mean that the SSP is actually honest in his/her duties...you know...?

Re: Re: From the wall of a Pakistani govt. office…

I m sure for those who don’t want to, won’t leave their phone numbers or names, but at least they will bring attention to that particular officer

oh wow. That's a nice idea. i applaud their intentions for at least trying.

mahnoor thats a great point :k:

Nadia isn’t it!

Nurmah, i wonder if they do that anywhere else... i mean, in any other offices. They should implement that in all countries, i think...especially countries like Nigeria where there is a significant amount of governmental corruption.

By the way, sorry yaar :( :(

hmmm...Nadia, you are right...they should implement it in all such countries...

p.s. sorry for? hugz
