Lets kill all Abdullahs, everyone who has "Islam" in their name (big population of Bengladesh), all Omars, all Osamas.... we will have peace, the world will become a heaven.
Abdullah was the name of father of Prophet Mohammad PBUH and Omar is the name of one of most powerful Khulfa-i-Rashden. I think being a so called moderate Muslims; we should restraint using such kind of non-sense which only show the shallowness. Instead of uttering such remarks, it is better to leave Islam and opt for some other religion.
^ I posted it with hope that people will know it was sarcastic
Oh Captain Ji, just ignore Farid. He doesn't know you.
Back to your "Sir-Kaz-im", what happened in Lal-a-bad was very bad. We as a nation have been consistently failing to raise our voice against the proliferation of Mega-Madrassahs. We tolerate their biddu behavior in the name of Islam.
It was so unfortunate to see the bloodshed (and it continues on as of today) purely in the name of Islam in a country that has its capital named after Islam.
Those tribals are simple dimwit who think killing Pakistan soldiers will take them to 72 hoors, again in the name of Islam.
So no one needs to kill Abdullahs, when all these Abdullahs are hell bent on committing suicide attacks.
Islamabad is a lovely name. It is the name of a beautiful city created by a ruler - Ayub Khan, who was was so secular he actually took the word "Islamic" out of the name of the country's name.
There are plenty of cities and towns in the non-Muslim secular world which have "Christian" or biblical terms in them. They just reflect part of the identity of the people, rather than being dens of fundementalism.
When you see it in conjunction with Pakistan being defined as an ideological state with foundation stone laid down when first Muslim steped foot in the Subconinent and poised to become the fortress of Islam...togethor with the slogan "Pakistan Ka Matlab Kia La Ilaha Ilalalah", "Islamic Bomb", etc. it definitely brings to mind that Islamabad "abode of Isalm" is out of religious motivation...
antibol phai jan could you throw some light on this?

Don't pin failure of our rulers and their policy on religion/followers. Extremists are bad and are going about doing anything they want in name of "Islam", only if our "secular" forces could follow their rules and implement justice/law we wouldn't have such problems to begin with. You are one of those who shout to defend a dictator from army, Zia was another dictator from army I sincerely hope you can see the common denominators, Busharraf is deceiving when you see all the "actions" against extremism he is simply cashing in the situation and using it as viagra for his rule.

Yeah, that slogan definitely reflected what was coming down the road in 1980s (Islamic bomb, extremism etc.), the slogan makers knew all about the future through some majic ball.
