Dr. Abdus Salam did not get his nobel prize for quantum packet theory !
He got it for his "electroweak theory". there are 4 forces of nature:
Gravitational, Strong Nuclear Force, Weak Nuclear force and the electromagnetic force.

Dr. Abdus salam and two other scientists proved that under certain conditions the weak nuclear force and Electromagnetic become one force. For this theory all three scientists shared the Nobel prize in 1979.

Thanks man and sorry, I mixed up two things...Dr. Abdus Salam did research on the quantum packet theory...Thanks again...

Pakistani nuclear physicist who was the corecipient with Steven Weinberg and Sheldon Lee Glashow of the 1979 Nobel Prize for Physics for their work in formulating the electroweak theory, which explains the unity of the weak nuclear force and electromagnetism.

partly this is also because such discoveries also get more attention, just because they were accidental. Nevertheless, as you say, a lot of important discoveries have been made this way. The reason for it being that ppl try to find a solution applying very difficult and complex processes whereas nature usually works simplisticly :~)

Nature is filled with action & simplicity, there is sand filled with sluggish waves not heard but felt with cells. The cells pulse, circulate, contract according 2 da rush of fluid. This is the man on the basis of his belief, the flow. He is in his own blood.

I discovered something vital too. It's da fifth element. Do I get a nobel prize 4 it too?

maybe if u still lived in the middle ages, you might at best get nominated

the notion of 4 (or as in ur case 5) elements governing the universe has been left behind ever since the renewed interest during the Renaissance in Democritus's theory of atoms.

Ouch, that hurt. NOT.

Maybe I should start revolutionizing cars. I should make them float on da roads already built. I'll definitely win a Nobel 4 that.

many "discoveries" are accidental, scientists found out something while looking for something else.

the penicillin , for example.

Yep
