Just read in a book that ‘daandiya’ famous dance of Gujarat is actually of Rajhistan origin. In Rajhistan, this was performed using swords. When sword hit other sword, it produced a rhythm. Gujarati community as a whole is considered peaceful (through they produced many famous Dons of subcontinent, before producing people like Mr Jinnah and Mahatma Gandhi), so they replaced swords with daandiya (sticks). But sticks were failed to produce the kind of rhythm that two swords could produced, so Gujarati community started attaching small bells (silver color) with sticks to produce rhythm.
Lets talk about different dances performed in different parts of sub-continent and share interesting facts / history behind such dances.
