My parents were like that too. Like I didn't share every single thing with them, and kept most things hidden. I did so many things which I regret now many could have possibly harmed me, and I wish I was close enough to my mom to be able to trust her. You can't trust your parents when you're a child unless you see them as a friend. I think it's best if parents act like their childs best friend, thats the best way to protect them.
