Re: Friends of Pakistan-A title not wanted!
When the delegation met the Singapore Premiere, and asked how he had managed to transform Singapore. He just looked around at the dignitaries gathered, and smiled then asked "There was one nation that inspired me to transform Singapore. The nation was fast progressing and stood out above others in Asia. Do you gentlemen know which nation that is?" The Pakistani delegation replied in negative. With a chuckle he responded, "Gentlemen! that nation is Pakistan. I took my inspiration from a progressive Pakistan".
It was that in the 80s, and here we are today. We have had a backwards trend of politics, economics, and development. Pakistan was indeed once one of the most progressive nations in the region.
The delegation to Singapore was in 80s, their hardwork/seed must've been older. It takes more than a decade of sowing seeds, watering and hardwork to see fruits in a country. Pakistan of 60s must've inspired other countries, definitely not the Pakistan of 70s or 80s.
In 70s Pakistan started pedalling in reverse gear, 80s accelerated it. 90s we thought everybody else is going in wrong direction. In 00's we thought we can beat everyone else in the race by going faster in wrong direction and still make it to the destination.
