I would give it a two thumbs up! :k: :k: 8/10 kinda movie.
It ain’t no chick flick but it ain’t no typical guy movie either. If you are looking for some gun action, skin or bad language this movie isn’t for you. If you don’t know football, don’t even think about renting this one. This is about sport, the drama and raw emotions. Even if you are not into football, you can still enjoy the movie as long as you enjoy sports. Claimed to be a true story.
It wasn't what I expected..and this doesn't even come close to other Football movies like "Remember The Titans" and "Rudy". It just had hyped because High School football in Texas is insane.
To me it lacked flow. It just seemed like everything was just mixed up and put together onto the screen.
Here are two examples
At the party:
Star Quarterback screws hot girl who whorrishly offers sex to him. Nothing comes of it afterwards. No girlfriend. No relationship between the two. It was just that. WTF.
The Chavez character:
In the end, the credits state that this kid goes to Harvard and graduates from one of the most prestigious schools in the United States. There was one line in the movie where it stated that this kid was smart. That's it. Nowhere else in the movie could you depict how smart this kid was. When I saw the credits at the end, I was like WTF, how did this kid goto Harvard?
It had its moments, but overall it didn't catch me like I would have hoped that it would.
'Star Quarterback screws hot girl who whorrishly offers sex to him. Nothing comes of it afterwards. No girlfriend. No relationship between the two. It was just that. WTF.'
Thats not a reason to have a qualm with the film...that kind of thing happens reguarly enough...since when where one stands unusual for high school students???
I haven't seen the film yet. My friend got one of them £3 DVD's off a Chinese guy so might end up watchin it tonight. I saw Coach Carter last week which i enjoyed even though it had its flaws. Has anyone seen both?...and if you have which did most prefer?...I'll have my own view when iv seen Friday Night Lights.
