Friday Flashbacks : Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Here is one of my favourite films EVER!!!

Those were the days…I don’t know if they would ever do romance like this on the big screen ever again! :hinna:

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge was Aditya Chopra’s debut film as a director. The film remains an iconic Bollywood love story.

Re: Friday Flashbacks : Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

First I'll tell you how crazy it drove all the teens in SL!!!

It only came to SL after it won all the filmfare awards...when it came out...all the 16-18yr old would cut school and watch it..girls and boys both..mostly boys..coz it was easier for them to jump over their school walls...they would take a change of clothes...jump over the walls..go some where...get changed out of their uniforms then go to the cinema...or they wouldn't be let in during school hours!

Omg Aaliyah!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how much this movie means to me!!! Such fond memories! I was in college when this came out. A big group of us, about 15 people, went to go see it at the only theatre in town that played Indian movies. At the time, it was such a huge deal lol! Most of the group I went with were all punjabi…we had such a good time. This was like THE movie of the century for us! The songs..the dialogues…the tears! And the dances that we did afterwards to “Mehndi lagake rahkna”! I think that song single handedly changed desi weddings!

“Jaa Simran! Ji le apni zindagi!!!”
