please read the following, and do some online research.
The real lace feels heavy, the lacy part is very thin and flexible and the thick outline is feels tightly knotted and a bit stiff(compared to the thin meshy part) If you have a chance go to a high end bridal shop(if you are in US/euorpe etc) and ask them to show you the real lace.
yeah and you know its not even whole chantilly saree its got chiffon in all the fall, which is like huge cost cutting element. here full chantilly lace saree (again i dont know if its authentic but its gives the same look and is definitely silk) is of 22-40k.
yeah i actually got puzzled when i first heard the prices but then i got to know they are worth that much so i was okay. got myself a treat of a red one!!
got myself a nude/skin almost nude champagne colored chantilly lace saree (guaranteed french… :D) well its just six yards of fabric…working on getting the blouse and petticoat to go with…
get medium silk or shamoz silk petticoat, for blouse there are numerous options but the most simple and straight forward would be pure silk. kundan zari would look nice too. if you can find atlas chiffon it would be great!
i have a lace sari in a rose pink colour it has a gold border around it. i like it, its nice, but the way the stupid tailor stiched the sari ruined the whoel look ..grrrrr.
well u can get the fabric from a fabric store here in the states…but i wanted to make sure it was authentic (which i guess it would be if i had bought it here in the states too and it was explicitly labeled as Chantilly lace) …my cousin lives in paris…she’s in fashion design…she’s the one who got it for me…i have to say it cost me but at least i have what i want and i know its real…though now that i have it im thinking may be getting six yards of it was too much…but whatever i like it…i just have to have it stitched so its easier to wrap cuz i dunno how to do a saree really
Hi
Well i'm pretty lucky because my gran mum got these for my mum from singapore 25 yrs back so it was all orignal and beautiful stuff! i ahve it in peach and there is on in gold but i dont like that ..heeehh my sari was silk dyed in peach , but it was a friends wedding so i didnt get any kaam or anything on the blouse ...
but do be careful because myn was 9 yards and i'm pretty slim from the waist but i think it looked a little proofy even though the sari was sticthed on my insistence.Everyone else told me i was crazy that i didnt look fat , but i dun believe them..heheheheeh. Or maybe i was comparing to my twin's sari , hers was pure silk .
^agree...im pretty slim and mine is only 6 yards but even that seems a bit much considering the blouse isnt coming out of it...cuz when i wrapped the sari it did seem a little poofy to me ...hopefully when I have it stitched i wont be so self conscious about it...though my mom also told me i was being silly and it looked amazing
btw it doesnt have to be 25 years old to be original and beautiful you can still get original and absolutely gorgeous chantilly saris :p ...im completely in love with mine and find it to be truly amazing and worth it
