has anyone tried freezing ginger paste?
I was thinking of freezing the paste in the ice cube tray and then bag the ginger cubes.
I have kept the ginger paste in the fridge…but since I am not using ginger very often, it ends up going bad. Also I find it very time consuming to cut and crush the fresh ginger everytime I am cooking. Need something real quick.
Does freezing ginger looses it’s fragnance? How long can I keep it frozen.
Re: freezing ginger
Jal Pari chefs like Ainsley Harriot and Jamie Ol do it all the time and so do I grate fresh ginger and then put in the ice tray and freeze- theyre brill as when you cook them theyre like fresh and theres no need to defrost- very time saving!!
Re: freezing ginger
I've seen this tip throughout GS a few times, i'm sure its successful.
Re: freezing ginger
I do this with both garlic and ginger... i ain't peeling and chopping that stuff everytime... and i don't think it has a negative impact flavour-wise..
make your life easier i say :)
