Freeze foods

ok i have a question..for example i cooked keema today… add half in a container and freeze it..so when i take it out from the freezer what do i have to do

should i just defrost it in microwave or anything else to do?

I would heat it in micro or heat it on stove… I am not big fond of defrost option.
