Should parents give their children the freedom to use the internet,in order to browse,chat with friends,etc?At what age would you give full freedom to your children for using the internet?
Yes I would with the limitation that not to disclove any personal information.
At any age and you can have to be with them and tell them not to do behind your back.
That way they learn a lot.
Keep your computer where you can see them all the time may be your room or where you stay most of the time. Keep an eye on them all the time.
Keep telling them rules and regulations that if you won't obey I won't let you do this and that.
Mostly kids don' listen they don't follow the rules. They don't mind even telling home address because they don't understand how dangerous it is.
If they break rule then don't let them chat.
It's better not to let them chat other than classmates of same gender.
I would suggest avoid chating till they are 12. If kid is genius and listen and totally follow your rules then you can let them chat early.
First tell them what happens when kids disclose parsonal informations. How there could be some bad people over the internet and come to chat and lie about their age and fool you.

these are the things i am thinking these days....
kids making friends, watching too much tv, and interent
these are the biggest concern these days for any parent.
Is there any program that a parent could download to block certain sites and information, and maybe keep track of what they are doing.....
It would really make parent's life easier....
When i do think about all these things i jst dont want to have tv and net in my house once i have kids....
The other scary thing is these teenage TV shows Hannah Montana, zack and cody or Malcolm in the middle.... some of these shows do talk about attracting guy or girl, dating, love affairs, kissing all these things that as a muslim parent i wouldnt teach my kids
Maybe at first kids might change the channel when these topics r brought up in the show but slowly they find it "normal" topics....
its so scary how these things manipulate kid's mind....and it so influencing that our kids start to become friends with opposite gender and when they are questioned they say oh we are friends.....

I would say 16 even 18. I would still keep tabs on what websites they are going to.

Full internet access may be after the age of 13 or 14 but still i want to know what they are browsing.
