Re: Freedom is a myth

I thought you don't believe in soul, do you?

Re: Freedom is a myth

You are free within certain boundaries and within certain limits which are variable.

Re: Freedom is a myth

Just like a prisoner, he is free to walk within his cell, right?

Re: Freedom is a myth

Freedom is over rated - in this world ... Freedom to the extent of our urges will exist in the Hereafter ... Freedom can exist in this world also that is if people are presented with limited choices but at the same the tools to think freely are removed then a state of freedom will exist in confinement to our own ideas of possibility so long as we do not pull the plug.

Today we are taught to believe that there is value in paper currency - and we blissfully operate with this idea using paper currency to achieve our desires ... but is it really true? So perhaps freedom can exist in the mind of the one who has been deprived of the full picture.

In which respect a prisoner is not free because he desires the outside ... whereas if a child born and raised on a desert island knowing no other land exists will be free and blissfully so in his own little world.

^

In other words less exposure is essential for a better perception of freedom

Re: Freedom is a myth

In other words, if you don't know what you are missing then you aren't going to miss it :D

I agree with what Arshad said " You are free within certain boundaries and within certain limits which are variable.",so technically we aren't really free. Some or the other boundaries always exist; death, life, opportunity, luck, circumstance are boundaries present for each one of us....other boundaries such as the cultural ones ,religious boundaries, moral boundaries, state law boundaries etc vary from person to person.
