For the purpose of online scan, even Mcafee offers that but doesn't provide solution. I'd suggest go for AVG Free. There are couple more out there in the market but AVG is much better than anyone else.

I have this virus in my system that doesnt seem to wanna leave me alone.

Which virus? You can look it up in AVG website and they would have the solution or try Symantec's site.
Download AVG Free, update it, Scan full computer and tell us what you get.

OK i found out its a Master Boot Record trojan virus which is not going away from these ****ty virus scanners.
Any idea as to which bootable utility i can use to get rid of this virus?

Man i hate this pest which is hijacking my system… what happens is even after i format..it comes back somehow after couple hours…I found out it was on my E: USB hard drive
Anyhow i used avg..adware…blah blah..nothing helped…i finally downloaded
The virus i have is as follows
Trojan Hourse Downloader Generic.hgT X 8 files
Trojan horse clicker x2
Trojan horse BACkdoor.generic3.ecy
Worm/VB.CC
I recall downloading family guy episode from IRC last year which i backed up on my USB drive which of the 2nd cd didnt work for some reason. These viruses came from that file i downloaded from IRC
Since then ive removed all my personal data from my HD else where 
but these these pests can be bothersome!
EWIDO which i heard from computergeeks.com that its da most powerful spyware remover. …its been 30 mins ..no popups yet… will keep u guys updated

If you really want a good antivirus go to this website
www[dot]av-comparatives[dot]org
and check the online results.
Decide for yourself which one you want. Most mainstream antiviruses will not catch most of the viruses. I use NOD32 and thats what I recommend.

YAY! finally got rid of the virus! none of these softwares were able to deleting the virus! I got this program called killbox.exe which u can google for online....
Windows sometimes doesnt let you delete some files..but this program can do it! :)
