Hey guyz, I heard that HP is offering free upgrade to windows 7 on all of the desktops/laptops purchased within one year span. Is it true? Anyone ?

it’s only being offered on PCs purchased on or after June 26 2009…

and its NOT free....
my friend bought a HP laptop 10 days back and he had to pay US$ 40 for the windows 7 upgrade....
although i think it was silly of him to buy the laptop when win7 release date was so close....
i bought the same laptop with 64-bit windows 7 for a lesser price....
