i have seen some sites that are giving away free magazines for the whole year…mags like STUFF, MAXIM, sporting news etc..all you need to do is enter your address and you start to get the mags for the entire year…there appears to be no catch…has anyone ordered any? there has to be a catch cuz why would someone hand out free mags for the entire year?

Im sure you'd much rather read BBC gardeners world magazine........... you can get free seeds with them!:p

^ yea they are free. a lot of my friends get them. There is no catch... advertisments pay for it.

We had some unused miles lying around for American Airlines (on a card I don't use anymore), so they sent us this offer for eight free magazines (out of a list of, maybe, 40) that we can get for a year. Man, its a hassle to throw so much trash (and so heavy trash) every month. Anyway, the only magazine I will read for free are Time, Car & Driver and PC World. The rest are just a waste of space and printing materials.

Don't tell me about newspapers..... dang! I don't know what I was thinking when I put a check mark against Wall Street Journal in this free deal. 5 days a week, a bundled WSJ is delivered, and 3 out of 5 days it makes its way to the dumpster without even the rubberband being removed. Though my wife did comment that WSJ absorbs extra oil much better when she puts french fries on it after deep frying. Wallah o aalim.

I used to buy newspapers and never had the time to read them until I spread some out on the floor when I was going to redecorate a room and articals used to catch my eye and I'd stop and read then and then the next and then the next until I wasted the whole day reading about all sorts

i was reading my mates magazine today and there was a picture of a child in it, it's been on my head ever since, she was born with a disorder where her face had 65 %y bones missing, it was sad but really horrible.

its a simple concept, magazines make little on their subscription costs, but they make more on the adverts in the mag itself. now how much you can get for an advert is based on what your circulation is to the target market of the advertising company.
Enter these freebie subscription companies which serve as a middleman between you and the mag publisher and give the magazine to you for free, but increase the total circulation of the magazine, in many cases they even charge a finders fee to the publishers.
Since the publishers have a higher circulation number, they command more in terms of advertising dollars from the companies' that advertise in those magazines.
some magazine publishers go direct to the customer and offer the magazine for free, usually for one year. if at the end of the year you are so used to the magazine that u subscribe to it, then its an added bonus for them. if you dont they will offer the freebie subscription to someone else who increases their circulatrion figures of a specific demographic group for the year,m and may subscribe when the intial period has ended.
There is no catch...oh one catch, they may sell your name and all to other companies looking to hit that demographic group.

yeah there is a catch if u really care that your name is being sold to companies interested in tryingt o sell products to you, otherwise no issue
