You might remember that last year I introduced you to a little indie movie called Tiptoes](Tiptoes - Movie | Moviefone), a film that followed Matthew McConaughey as the lone regular-sized person in a family of little people, and how he must introduce his love (played by Kate Beckinsale) to his secret family. It’s a strange, mostly ignored film, one that would probably be completely ignored if not for one specific ingredient in the mix – Gary Oldman playing his twin brother Rolfe, a dwarf. Yes, Oldman actually walked around on his knees for an indie film. (Something that doesn’t play as well as Lon Chaney’s Penalty](The Penalty (1920) - IMDb).)
As the story goes, Steve’s (McConaughey) girlfriend (Beckinsale) gets pregnant, and a day later, she learns that her beloved comes from a family of little people she’s never met. Of course, there are fears about what will happen to the baby, the potential health problems of little people, and a growing divide between the man who feels ashamed of his family and the girlfriend he thinks is romanticizing the whole scenario.
