Re: FREE airline tickets & FREE use of airline lounges anyone?
has anyone used any of the airlines' lounges? are they any good?
All I know, you get a coffee, magazines to read and free wi-fi

well i have a couple of cards that will let me "enjoy" airline lounges at a "discounted" use fee. my layovers are usually less than 90 mins, and afaik the only thing they seem to offer is a place to hookup your laptop and a free beer. the airports i usually transit via have no dearth of good beer or laptop options outside the lounge so just wondering.

not really! when i traveled the world in first class ten years ago on United, Lufthansa and Air Canada, i had the best experience ever and i enjoyed every bit of it. it was a luxury, man!
spacious area with mood enhancing lighting system where you can relax / take a nap on large comfy sofas...you can take shower, message on automated message chairs, tons of food [salad, fruits, sandwiches, desserts] all kinds of fruit platters, tea coffee, champagne [it was a waste for me lol]. arrival departure info, they come personally to wake you up for your flight. all kinds of convenience that you can imagine of. yes, free shoe shine machine as well. :)
the best lounges were at Hong Kong and New Delhi airports which is run by the 5-star hotel chain, The Taj Inter-continental. they serve you even HOT food at your table. it's NOT self-serve. lovely environment.
i miss it, yaaraa! :(
