The kind of control thats going on in some of those later scenes is absolutely unbelievable.

Oh man... stick a M249 SAW light machine gun on top of that, pair it with a 40mm grenade launcher and you have something truly evil for urban combat. If you need to storm an enemy-held building, why risk a human life when you can just send in a team of BigDogs?

it is an unbelievable control system, cant fathom how they would even begin designing that. even if that were two chinese guys they'd be pretty damn good to do something like this.
yeah MS thats the first thing that struck me when I saw this. and the weaponization is the easy part, as it is it carries 300 pounds payload. its clearly designed for the purpose we're talking about. I was thinking sniper rifle and grenade launcher.
knockout_artist looks like its hard to knock the thing over to begin with! it came pretty close to getting up from a fall when it skidded on the frost.

Using it as a sniper platform would be unlikely, both because of the skill required in sniping and the fact that snipers are usually safe while sniping.
But as an urban assault device, with teams of BigDogs with belt-fed light machine guns entering buildings, blasting open doors and clearing entire rooms with 40mm autmatic grenade launchers, they could be deadly.
They would even be useful attached to infantry squads and used to carry and use heavy equipment like machine guns. Lets say your squad is pinned down behind cover by heavy enemy fire.... a human machine gunner would be exposed were he to try and surpress the attackers, but instead you could just send a BigDog out into the open. It's a small enough target that traditional anti-armour weapons like RPGs could not hit it as anything but point blank range!

:p thats just the approach i use in first person shooters maddie .. nobody expects a sniper to come running into the building. ofcourse i dont do very well

I would make net/or boundary with strong laser beam to fry its ICs on board leaving it dead.

i am sure it will be use for reconssiance purpose and small arm carrying purpose..
on the lighter notes.. if it is out of gas imagine it standing in the line at the gas station :D
