I tell you these desi travel agents are frauds, they try in every way to do fraud with you and then act all innocent and hurt and even totally busy when you aquire why you were charged more than the agreed amount on your visa card!

Sadia you can dispute the charge if it was more than what you were told... you should report them. its illegal
We asked if we could pay with Visa card and the agent said 'yes' and thats all and now he charged the visa fees of 73 Euros on us, where as he the service provider should be paying it! And he is not giving us an invoice that shows that he charged us the fees, he was saying, we should have asked about the visa charges, where as its known and I also confirmed it with the Visa that customer never pays the fees and nor do they have to ask or confirm it before!
Stupid agent ullu ka ***** as he is the only one we can buy tickets from and my whole family members buys from him ..still he does such fraud!
I want to take his stupid A** to court but will consider it as charity and let it go.
ps. An invoice just came and he charged us 73 as "extra".

Saadia, you're probably talking about Thampi, right? 73 Euros is really heavy. For how many tickets was that?
To be honest: I stopped using travel agents for leisure travel many years ago. I don't understand why people still use them. Booking online is much more convenient and cheaper.
For business travel I have to use a travel agency because our company has a global agreement with them.

Umer, yeah its him! For 2 Adult and 1 child ticket.
Why we still use him, because Emirates wasnt giving us reasonable rates online .. we were considering Qatar online but somehow went to him to get the tickets .. he sometimes has good offers, thats why ppl still use him.

you shouldnt let it go.. if you want to give the money to charity than give it to charity dont let him take advantage ... if i were you i would have fought for my 73 euro. he is obviously cheating you and you are letting him get away with it..

I do not want to side with the travel agent....however VISA takes 4% from them maybe he had not figured that into his price.........he should have gotten your permission to charge the extra amount!..........Good Luck!

I actually don't think it's worth reporting him, even though the fraud section at Visa said I should fax them the bill and they will look into it, they also said what he did wasn't right, he is not suppose to bill the customer the visa charges, its in his contract with them!
We would have happily paid cash had he said, look they charge a lot, so please bring in cash on monday but he didn't .
What we will do is not to buy from him anymore, this is it ... the End of our dealing with him. He gave away my parents seats to someone else and they could not fly during december to a wedding, but now enough is enough.

Yes he was, but thats not the point .. he had some special offer on Emirates that they didnt have on the website, so thats why we decided to book from them instead. Who doesnt mind saving some money especially when air travel is so expensive now a days.

To be honest, when I used to book through him (back in those long-gone days) he had informed me about the extra charges for credit card payment in advance and so I just paid in cash. I had no idea that those extra charges are this high though.
Anyway: There are a lot of better options, which you will now be able to explore after breaking free from Thampi. :)
