Fraud on the name of Sahaba

I hear alomost from every duplicate maulvess on the name of tableegh, that sahaba did this sahaba did that, but
1. no name of sahaba
2. no book reference from hadees has taken
**3. **which place event happened.
4. it sounds like sahaba are only way to islam and prophet was guided by sahaha.

It is open fraud by these cheap and incompetent maulovees. We need to create a center location of authenticated hadees for reference otherwise thses lungi wale maulvees will keep misguiding us as they did for last many years. - please think, accept hadess based of

  1. logic
  2. consultation with learned people and
  3. has link in Quran.

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

Not sure I fully understand where you are coming from. Are you referring to online fatwas or some real life incidents? In most case, if you ask for more details or references, ppl usually are able to research them and give that info to you. In some cases, while making a point, ppl some times assume that it is a known quote so they don't provide exact reference all the time. You may not know it, so if you are unsure, you can do more research to find out the quote or ask the person making the comment to provide reference.

If you don't find a reference and need help, pls post the question/issue here and someone will be able to help you out.

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

I think he's talking in generalities where you'll sit in some lecture and all you here is what the sahaba did and said , and they really wont give you any decent references. Happens a lot. Especially in Pakistan. To the extent that when I last went to Pakistan, Islamic written literature was in hype and everyone and their mom was publishing some Islamic-oriented literature that they claimed they published based on their research. You should read some of this garbage they were selling in the name of Islam. Research my butt. I'm convinced one of the books was written after reading Catholic theology, because I couldn't figure out where this guy was getting his claims. Ex. He actually WROTE that Islamic theory is that Eve tempted Adam to eat the apple, when everyone educated knows that Islam doesn't blame Eve over Adam for the original sin. And then his proof for this was some shair by some Pakistani poet of yesteryear on how women are unreliable and cheat on their men. He concluded that "since Eve's time, women have been cheating on men, and they still do to this day".

I told my mother "You must be behind schedule, because you haven't had your extra-marital affair yet".

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

Khair, my example wasn't regarding the sahabah. But it illustrates how there is much sham "scholarship" being done by muslims, and one needs to be careful when they're going through this literature.

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

When someone is making a speech, by definition, they will skip a lot of details, which otherwise are provided in a written article. For starters, in a speech, there is limited time so the speaker will try to make his/her point quickly; and will not spend too much time providing exact references or bibliography. All this you can expect in a well-written article. The assumption is that those who are listening to a speech can find out references on their own, or should ask the speaker to provide them on the side. And if the speaker can not guide you the source of his/her references then you are free to discount the speech.

Most speakers expect you to trust them on their references. That is a big leap of faith for most. If the speaker does not have established credibility, then you are better off spending your time doing something else.

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

Faisal, this might work well in the US environment where most muslims are educated enough not to buy into jaahil made-up speeches on Islam.

How does this leap of faith work out in the madrassah that is brainwashing its students to take up the kalashnikov culture in the name of Islam?

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

Reference please :)

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

Too much Foxnews? :snooty:

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

This Exactly what I mean. Our Ulmas are presenting hadees in such a way, that is encouraging terrorism and violance and the whole picture of Islam looks like Islam is nothing but is Jihad. while discussion about Jihad-bin-nafs is ignored.

Once I was in mosque and jamati came, and indroduced himself to group with his master degree probably to impress some and demolorze some who do not have and than he mentioned a hadess ...

"Once army of sahaba was going all with full josh of iman and under no circutances they were ready even to think and hear the word kufra. suddenly they saw few kafirs and immediatly killed because tey were not able to tolrate kufra."

  1. it is height of indecipline that soldier attack enemy without order from his/her commander? (may be cave man).

  2. was during Prophet time there was no agresseion it was either defenece or retaliation?

  3. What this hadees is teaching to us and to our young generation.

  4. if you third person listen this what impression he or she will have that allah is only for muslims. while in Sura-e-hamd 5 times a day all of us say "We worship you" . WE means what, only muslims?. Every creatures worship allah but some use God' s preferred way.

This wrong practice needs to be stopped and sould be discouraged not encougared.

Tell the right thing to do the right thing.

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

The request for references is given when one is making a claim based upon a religious text. My claim is not based on religious text - there is no text out there that says “Oh believers, such and such is happening in mosques in the world”. So, therefore, I cannot feasibly provide a hadith for my allegations, and it would be ridiculous to ask for any such proof.

My claim is based upon empirical evidence. I’ve seen and heard this rhetoric in Pakistan. Its pathetic, to be quite simple.

As for the book I was reading - it was entitled something like Stories of the Prophets - not sure of the title. It was a pathetic book, and I’d be embarrassed to be seen toting a slip of paper with its reference on it. Embarrassed that I even spent a few days of my summer break reading it.

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

He has also talked in general without quoting the incidents, Exactly the way people use which he is lamenting

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

How is that Fraud in the name of the Sahabah?

If you really have a problem with whoever it is giving you the speech, gather your own guts, and go ask him for references...to rant about it on an online forum isn't gunna get you anywhere...

Stop taking the easy way out of blaming people, seek knowledge on your own, make that much effort atleast.

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

Most of the time tablegi

  1. Do not give chance to speak.
  2. Give vaouge answers
  3. Avoid argument saying "I will talk you later" or "it is paryer time " or argument about hadees is not allowed in islam.
  4. many people respect mosques and avoid any kind of confrontation with these ill-equipped jamaties. who are responsible of floating several misconception in the mind of people.

Is this not a fraud?

Re: Fraud on the name of Sahaba

desiman - in that case, its probably best you try and break those barriers if you feel so strongly about it - if you're faced with tablegi people next time, let them know what you think.
