Re: Frankfurt!
I would say two or three days would be enough for Frankfurt alone. I spent six weeks in Germany, primarily in Frankfurt, but a large amount of time was spent in neighbouring cities and Bavaria.
It really depends on what you want to do. You can spend one day along the Rheine doing a scenic boat cruise or drive. It's well worth it. Two days can be spent visiting all the sites within Frankfurt.
If you want to do more, there is really lots to see and do outside of Frankfurt. You can do day trips to neighbouring cities, anywhere from Trier (famous for Roman ruins ... close to the French border) to Heidelberg (another truly gorgeous city, very close to Frankfurt), to going a bit more south into Munich and Bavaria.
There is so much to see and do in Germany and everything is close by. Even if you do go to Frankfurt for a week, you'll be able to do day trips via bus/train (bus is apparently cheaper) to other historic and scenic places.

MehnazQ, thanks for the information. But I was thinking about spending time in Frankfurt.
Its great to visit other cities also, but I dont think we will get so much time..
Re: Frankfurt!
People..I have a dilemma now! I decided last week that I will visit London, but because of London bombing and situation not very normal their, I have changed my plans. I was thinking about Frankfurt, but I also have Milano as a opition. The information on internett is not very good about those cities. So I need some help now.
Which city should I chose? And why?
Thanks..
Re: Frankfurt!
Go to Italy, its so much prettier than Germany. And the language is nice too. And the food. And the climate.
Damn. Germany sucks.
Re: Frankfurt!
What did you not like about it PCG? I've had a wonderful time in Germany each time I've gone. I'm sure Italy is a nice place too.
Re: Frankfurt!
Well now I have decided to travel to Frankfurt. I hope I will like the city.
Does someone have any website to Frankfurt? So i can get some information..
And Mehnazq, u have visited the cities around Frankfurt. How far are their? For instance Heidelberg. We will have 3 proper days to enjoy our time in Frankfurt. So is it possible to make a trip to those cities withing a day?
Many questions, but It will be great if you give some info..
Re: Frankfurt!
I don't know Ajnabee, I haven't been there in a while. Check the local papers for deals. Go to the main train station in Frankfurt. If I recall, all the buses left from there. You can visit Trier, Heidelberg, the Rheine and a few other places all on day trips. You can even go down to Munich by train and it is well worth visiting Munich.
Good luck and have fun!
Re: Frankfurt!
Here is the website of Frankfurt
http://www.frankfurt.de/sis/English.html
Well I live near Frankfurt and it´s really great to visit but not LIVE in this City. Well I wont live there.
You can visit Exibition, there are different things.
You can visit Sachsenhausen it´s one of the oldest part of Frankfurt. My advise is not only visit Frankfurt BUT also go in the naighbourhood like Darmstadt, Wiesbaden and Mainz.
Well wish you nice journy in my country ![]()

Re: Frankfurt!
Salam..
I am back from Frankfurt, and I most say it was a great city to visit. I didn`t have many excpations from the visit, but everything was great. Before you enter the main centrum, you can see the beautiful buildings from the auto bahn. And the bridges were great. If you like to take pictures, then you should take pictures from those bridges.
The shopping areas were great. I mean they had everything, and it was not so expensive too. So if you like shopping, then you should defently visit Frankfurt. The restaurants are good, you have many bars/cofee shops there. The transport were great. The taxis are not expensive. You can also take a lift to a big bank there ( I dont remember the name ), its 204 meter high and you can see the whole city from there. Its very beautiful!
We also visited the zoo, took sightseeing with bus ( you shuold take it before you start to walk around the city, you will get some good information about the city ), sightseeing with boat, it was for two hours, and if you want to relax and just enjoy the view of frankfurt city, then take this boat ( for two hours ), I loved it! You should also visit palmengarten, you can walk there just to relax. And if you love to drive a boat your self, then you can rent a boat there and drive it. Its a very good expirence.
The last day we visited Heidelberg. As Mehnazq recommend. And I must say it was worth to visit the city. The great castle on the top and the beutiful river in the middle of the city, was very beautiful. Dr.Ilamma Iqbal also studied here and its a street in Heidelberg, which is named as Ilamma Iqbal street.
And if you want to eat some good desi food in a good restaurant. Then you shuold eat from TajMehel. The food was good, the restaurant was beautiful.
So all in all it was a great tour. And me and my friends truely enjoyed it..
Re: Frankfurt!
Heidelberg truly is an amazing city. Did you hear the bells from the monastery? You can see it clearly from the castle. There is also a foot engraving on the grounds of the castle. It is said to be from prehistoric times. I'm so glad you enjoyed Frankfurt. Post some pictures if you can. :)
