Yes but how do you see women as being challenging or equal to men by driving? Horseriding can be seen more of a manly activity, because its open and because of the way a man is seated and even the way he rides a horse which in turn would be shameful for women due to them being modest and full of dignity. How does driving even compare?

Women can also be seeing in driving. Please refer these questions to Dr. Israr Ahmed and Shabbir Ally. They may answer that question and many more scholars. I am not a scholar, but a student. This is my opinion and I have heard that Saudis are right in the case of rules.

I don't believe in every scholar. Most of them are extreme and tend to push potential believers away from islam rather than bring them closer to it.
Even it is mentioned in the Quran to progress along with the world but not turn back to Islam. It did not state to make your own rules up or either go into such extremes. What you're telling me isn't common sense at all but rules being transformed in the modern society.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not disrespecting every Scholar out there. They are my last resort when I can't enlighten myself via my own research.

And may I add that in Saudi Arabia, NO woman, muslim or non-muslim is allowed to be seen outside their homes without wearing a burqa, covered from head to foot. No woman is allowed to drive . If seen outside their homes, they have to be accompanied by a man. She cannot drive her child to the hospital in an emergency .

Saudi Arabia is a muslim country and therefore this is how it is going to be.

First of all Saudi Arabia is a "kingdom", secondly they impose sharia per THEIR understanding, thirdly they ask women for "modesty" whether it is harsh on someone or not.

They do not allow women to drive, understandably which isn't best of a situation esp when it comes to emergency.

Now coming to France, they are "secular and democratic" not "theocratic", secondly they are forcing women to remove part of clothing which for most womens is a sign of modesty. Now its upto YOUR faith how you look at it, you may value immodesty more than modesty or vice versa, mind you both are "forced".

Toh Ek kaam kartey hai, Pakistan ko bhi nation of modesty banatey hai ! Koi aurat ekele bina apney shohar ke saath nahee chalegee. Gaadee chalana allowed nahee hoga chahey uska bacha mar kyona jaaye !! HOWWZZ THAT !!

WTF does women's liberation has to do with modesty? When a western women indulges in premarital sex, extra marital affairs, sexual decadence, drinking e.t.c., is that liberation?

How is everybody? Just one more thing to add. One of the reason for women being nake is Haraam is teenagers begin masturbation and thus they worry to terminate this habit. It is extremely hard when it becomes a second nature. Only people who have experienced masturbate know that women must wear burqa. Masturbation is considered to be Haraam, to stop it, one of the way is to pray to Allah Tallah, keep your life busy with good deeds in which you can not have time to think useless.

there are criminals in all societies, if you are referring to "charged with adultery thingie" then that shortcoming is mainly in Pakistani laws not in other countries and I believe it is under process of "rebuilding" which we hope will result in better implementation of hudood laws.

It should be banned because otherwise driving in a public place makes equity between two genders. I may attempt to bring close evidence for this InshaAllah. Do you think in the early days women were used to ride horses in public place?

The one I mentioned a reason above is my opinion. But so far I know they are right.

ok but while riding horse, you can see the whole person but in the car, you can only see the person's face which should be ok religiously if females cover their hair.

That’s what I meant. A country with 150 million Muslims cannot have just laws in its courts, so we are in no position to criticize others, whether Saudi Arabia or France.

Saudi culture is conservative by nature, women will always do purda even if the rules are relaxed a bit. Sure there will be some women who will completely come out of purda but most of them will still wear abayas. As for the punishment for crimes they are all in accordance with Islamic law and the results is almost non-existant crime. People are so afraid to commit crimes because they know the severity of the punishment that they will recieve, whether they ever get caught is another issue (and unlikely)
As for women driving, I think its in their own best interests, no woman will be able to drive without having every saudi man following her everywhere in his car and staring holes through her.

Brother, we can see a woman's face in the car. You want to break this rule in Saudi Arabia as this rule is right. Saudi Arabia is following what it has to like they have education system for women while it is said in Quran while few areas in Taliban were wrong being very strict against women for not being them educated.
