Karachi’s stolen fountain comes home

ISLAMABAD: A Rs 220 million stolen fountain, said to be the second highest in Asia, which was stolen from the beach in Karachi has mysteriously reappeared at the spot from where it was actually lifted.

This information is to be presented to the Senate (today) Friday. “A truck came and dropped this fountain which was said to be in the possession of one powerful institution of the state which cannot be asked any question,” revealed one official source.

We are satisfied that those who took it away have returned the expensive fountain and do not want to go into details of who had stolen it, the source said. **Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, taking part in the debate on the presidential address on Wednesday, had particularly mentioned how the fountain was stolen which had cost the nation Rs 220 million. **

After Nisar’s serious allegations, some federal authorities had contacted Sindh Home Minister Zulifqar Mirza who reported back to them that he had already ordered an inquiry into the theft of the fountain.

Re: Fountain stealers...

Your MQM bashing is really touching new low levels, indeed you miss the point it was in the possession of one & only powerful institution.

Re: Fountain stealers...

The One and Only Powerful.. in Pakistan is MQM... try ask them anything and see how AH respond to it... I don't know who will you link Amal Kansi to this??? Mods please take note of it...

Re: Fountain stealers...

Mod's should also take note of how the MQM came into discussion when their is no-mentioning of them in your own posted article, right genius :)

Re: Fountain stealers...

Ya right!!!

Everyone who knows or have little understanding about MQM, knows what the writer of the article is saying.. and the current bashing of Ch. Nisar by MQM, does support the argument

Re: Fountain stealers...

and what is writer saying ? :)

Re: Fountain stealers...

^^ Please read the posted material again

Re: Fountain stealers...

I am sorry i couldn't find anything where writer directly or indirectly talking about MQM, please help me out :)

Re: Fountain stealers...

^^ Please read it again..

Re: Fountain stealers...

[note] noted... MQM is political party & therefor legitimate part of discussion. Same goes for other parties...[/note]

Re: Fountain stealers...

whether the article is referring to the MQM or the Army as the 'powerful institution of the state which cannot be asked any question' is a point of discussion that will not be settled by moderators. I've removed extraneous discussion regarding Chaudry Nisar, although you are welcome to open a new thread topic about it wine.

Re: Fountain stealers…

Powerful institution of the state (which cannot be asked questions) only means army, no political party can be termed as “institution of the state”.

Re: Fountain stealers...

What would army do with a fountain.........especially a stolen one

Re: Fountain stealers...

^ may be thats why they returned it :D

Re: Fountain stealers...

Army need not to steal anything, they just take it by force!!!

yes MQM likes take bhata from weak and steal from stronger...

Re: Fountain stealers...

Yes they take it by force, but if the 'player' is from smaller rank then he'd need to take it when nobody is watching. The fountain was not secured by any stronger entity. The article states "powerful institution of the state" which means it was not a political party.

Re: Fountain stealers...

Ha ha ha..............

Wait a minute Captain, Thats not what I asked you to pick up.

May be the govt took it themselves to save some much needed electricity

Re: Fountain stealers...

^^ you have a point

but, again it can be a "jahaz" from "any powerful institution of state" , governed/run/administrated by MQM ministers and they might wanna decorate their palace with this fountain.. but find it WHITE ELEPHANT as there was no govt. fund to run it... and later when Ch. Nisar pointed out the missing Fountain they instead of taking trouble to smuggle it out of the country threw it back

OR

Apply Shaukat Aziz's forumala, they might wanna tell everyone that this fountain is missing and they could have "imported" the "new" fountain to replace "missing"..

Re: Fountain stealers...

Does it mean now we have the extra electricity to run the fountain hence returned? :)

We can go around guessing who could be behind it, I'd call it journalistic failure to point out exact culprit, lets leave it at that.
