Do you mix foundations? If yes, how many? I used to mix about 3 :o until I realised it was a silly idea. Now I like sticking to one ![]()
Re: Foundations
i dont use it,, bu my friends do and they do mix 2 foundations if for instance it is too dark/light for them.
some even mix it into their moisturizers.. dont know how good that is though :)
Re: Foundations
Bollywood MUA's use MAC's full coverage applied with a dry sponge to skin washed in ice cold water. then go over it in MAC's MSF
When I'm using MAC's full coverage I usually mix NC30 and NC35 to achieve the right colour. otherwise with Bobbi brown there is no need
Re: Foundations
I normally mix a cheap foundation with and exp one so it lasts longer. Atm using loreal and estee lauder, works a treat.
Re: Foundations
I guess I wasn’t silly for mixing 3 then
I’ll go back to my old ways
Re: Foundations
Nope, I find you get better coverage when you mix them. Say if you have discolouration on some part of your face it completely evens it out.
Re: Foundations
I mix my Bobbi Brown foundation with l’oreal. It’s perfect:phati:
I found most of the Bobbi Brown foundations a bit too orange for my skin tone.
Re: Foundations
I mix foundations with certain brands to find the right shade - it is completely normal to do so :)
HNK is right, you can even mix foundations into your regular moisturizer for a sheer coverage
Re: Foundations
Ahan I currently use a 2.5 for my Bobbi Brown and it's kinda yellow. I may aswell mix it with sthg else other than the yellowy bit I actually do like the coverage of it.
I've never mixed foundations together as I'm generally okay getting colour matched. But, as I don't wear foundation on a daily basis I don't like the feel of my MAC SFF in its pure form whenever I do wear it. So I just add my moisturiser, it works a treat for me.
Re: Foundations
oh wow! why didnt i ever think of this!!! mixing foundations! how do you guys mix it in with your moisturizer, how much do you use of each?
Re: Foundations
Sana you add a pea sized amount to a small amount of moisturiser. There has to be a bit more of the moisturiser than the foundation.
Sana, depends on the coverage you want. If you want light coverage then use more moisturiser and less foundation. If you want a slightly heavier coverage then do the opposite. I use equal amounts.
When I want a light coverage, I mix some moisturizer into my foundation, otherwise I dont tend to mix
Also, I recently was watching a video of one of the YouTube makeup gurus, I forget which one, maybe Laura Luke or someone else, and she was giving a tip that if its not like a formal occasion, then she just mixes her expensive foundation with a cheaper one to make it last longer, so she doesnt have to waste her expensive foundation for a trip to the mall, but she still gets nice coverage this way
MKD you can use a lighter compact powder over the Bobbi Brown foundation. I usually mix concealer with my foundation for heavier coverage at times and set-it with translucent loose powder.
Re: Foundations
i mix it with cream... lol

Oh thanks for the idea. I might try that next time I use foundation. Thanks! :)
