I’m using Bobbi Brown long wear foundation that seemed to match my undertones but it darkens over time after I apply it to my face. After it’s been on my face for some time it does look like it which is annoying. I have dry to normal skin on my face.
In Christian Dior’s Airflash i’m shade 301 but I didn’t buy it because I want to make sure that the darkening effect won’t happen again. Any suggestions of foundations that won’t darken? The lady at the Christian Dior counter was the one that first brought it to my attention. Any brand suggestions would be helpful since you all have tried and tested them.
1) What primer & power are you using to set the foundation?
2) What's you're describing is called oxidizing. Not everyone will experience this with the same foundation b/c its the oils on your skin mixing the foundation to create this change. Personally I have haven't had any issues with Chanel's, MUFE HD, NARS Sheer Glow, Lancome Teint Idole, MAC Studio Fix liquid. Can you get a sample of the Airflash to try it a few times before buying?
I’ll try to get samples for the ones that you mentioned and test them out on my face but unfortunately the lady at the Dior counter said she couldn’t give me a sample of the airflash since it’s a spray on item. But I did get her to show me how it would look on my face.
Thanks for letting me know what it’s called since I didn’t get much from my search results on google for foundation darkening.
I’m hoping sephora will give me a sample of the Urban Decay B6 prep spray…hope it works for me :k:
Yeah I knew there were older threads on this before but I didn’t know what this condition was called but thanks I’ll look through these threads.

Ah ok. Yea I can see why you can't get samples of this then lol. I might be wrong but I thought you were in the U.S. In that case, you should be able to easily return the product for a full refund if you buy it & don't end up liking it. This is the only option when you really love a particular MU but can't get samples before buying. Good luck w/ your search! :)
okay can I say sampling Mac full coverage, the lancome foundation, and nars sheer glow, I would have to say that the Nars sheer Glow is my current fav with it not darkening over time. I'm a Santa Fe shade so it looks perfect!!! Love you Nars. Thanks so much you all for educating me on the whole oxidizing weird thing that happens with foundation...all this time I was clueless what was happening...I thought it was just dirt and sweat or whatever contributing to the change of color. Anyways, I have a new fav in foundation brands now. Yippee. Thank you thank you GS.
