How do you guys handle this?
I’m always getting residue or stains on shirts and collars. (Not to mention my own shirts and high collars
)
What do you do to keep from transferring colour onto stuff…?

Re: Foundation Transfer
do u use a primer? it usually helps to keep the makeup on the face. makeup setting spray also helps.
Re: Foundation Transfer
I use a good primer...that always helps with transfer issues once the makeup has been set. My primer is Dr Brandt's pores no more primer.
Re: Foundation Transfer
I find setting spray helps sometimes.
Re: Foundation Transfer
I was having same issues with hijabs so avoided light colours and especially white
Then a friedn told me about spraying hairspray ont he scarf edges before wearing it, I started trying this and it's brilliant!! No transfer at all!!!
So maybe you could spray hairspray on your collar?
I used to have same issue when I used to wear shirts but now the hijab covers the collar so it's fine
Re: Foundation Transfer
Makeup setting spray doesn't make you makeup move or rub off.
Urban Decay 'All nighter spray' is the best one I found so far
Mac fix plus spray or theres a Kryolan primer i donr exactly remember what it is called really helos to keep makeup in place for hours. Or a translucent fixing powder over neck may also help
Re: Foundation Transfer
I've tried the fixing powders and they don't work and I've asked MAC for their solution but they say that they don't have anything that works as well as Revlon's Colorstay foundation.....which I found to be a bit ridiculous for a company like MAC to not have a remedy.
I'll go and pick up the Urban Decay spray and give that a shot.
I remember getting the Kryolan but I have a feeling that it works only if you are apply it over Kryolan products only. It doesn't work as well if you mix and match products.
Re: Foundation Transfer
^Let me get this straight... MAC is recommending Revlon Colorstay foundation over their own products? Wow! I mean I do love RCS but I thought MAC would have some sort of solution.
Anyhow, foundation transfer from what i've noticed usually happens on oily skin (it happens to me sometimes). I have to say it has decreased ever since i've started using RCS (for oily skin, make sure it's not the one for dry skin). Try applying the foundation and then taking a tissue paper and patting your skin all over with it, this will absorb all the excess oil in the foundation without removing the foundation. Ever since I saw Wayne Goss do it in a makeup tutorial, i've been doing it ever since. It seems like such a silly little step, but i'm telling you, it makes the biggest difference in how long your foundation lasts. Then set your face all over with a translucent powder, dust away any excess. I usually stop right there and my foundation doesn't transfer even though my skin is abnormally oily, but if you want, use a setting spray at the end, that should do the trick.
I use kryolan one with revlon color stay and mac studio fix fluid. Works perfect and no staining over clothes. It does work well just give it 5-6 mins before applying foundation.
I recently purchased Cliniques Translucent powder,Pixiwoo really recommends it in so many of their videos. It is super light and helps foundation buff and stay in place for so long.

I did not know WG did it in a makeup tutorial! I do this all the time and it does help keep my makeup in place longer and fresher.
I keep a stash of Starbucks napkins everywhere!

no...no.....MAC didn't recommend RCS. I told them that I use RCS but the colour match is not as good as the MAC line and do they have a solution for transfer......
I do blot and I do use a setting powder....and my skin is not oily anymore.....but the MAC foundations transfer anyway......
Re: Foundation Transfer
Lots of powder to 'set' your make-up.
A good setting spray, 'all-nighter' is great btw.
A primer helps foundation stay in place too.
Re: Foundation Transfer
picked up the urban decay all nighter spray last night and am giving it a go today....let's see how it stands up to a full day.....
Foundation Transfer
Please give me a review muzna! Would like to try it. You know i have the kat Von D finishing spray, sephora recommended it to me as their best one from their options but I actually completely forgot I had finishing spray till this thread. I only bought it after my cousin slept with her makeup on one night and woke next morning only for it to look like she had just done her makeup, especially her eyeshadow, was in tact perfectly! I'm not sure if its had the same effect on me though that's why I forgot I had it...
Where can I get kryolan?
Re: Foundation Transfer
omg....more than half my way through the day and the make-up looks like I've just applied it.
the only thing that I've had to refresh is my lipstick and that's cuz I had lunch!!!
I haven't even blotted and there's no shine. yippeee!!!!
so far I'm loving this stuff!!!

Muzna, I even use it to 'wet my 217 brush' to apply eyeshadow with this spray to get a dramatic evening look - and as you can imagine even the shadow stays put
Re: Foundation Transfer
great idea Royal!!!
at the end of my day yesterday the make-up still looked fresh. I was really pleased with the results.
today I decided to go without the spray just to see what the difference would be at the same intervals.
half way through I was in pretty good state but 2 additional hours later the make-up has begun to transfer when I blot the shine.
Urban Decay - All Nighter Spray works!!!
