MAC has a tendency to look "cakey" at times and many girls complain about it looking darker or grey after a while.
People with normal skin shud use liquid foundation.. and use a mattifying balm/gel on the oily area's of the face.

Re: foundation question
I usually put a moisturizer before i put my foundation ( a little bit ofcourse)
Re: foundation question
^ try nixing both .. it makes the application so much easier...
ive only used liquid foundation twice in mylife and it looks so cakey and bad...
as i said before i had tried givenchy mac among others...
mac studio fix is just it! use it over a moisturizer... and it wokrs magic.
The undertone idea is the best, used alongside a light reflector thing. . Clarins have a great one. Although it still leaves me darker, it makes me look healthily tanned rather than gray which was my main issue. Try Shu uemura "face architect". I have alot of pink, which brands like Max factor, bobby brown et al just don't cater for. But Im a little anti theatre type makeup, not only does it cake your skin, taking away from it's fabulous natural glow! It is also actively bad for it. (in my experience at least)
Also, in my persuit of facial perfection I was once an avid Nars fan, I still stand by that, I'm thinking of going back.
On a last note, I find changing foundations every couple of months helps the skin.
For pink undertones: Clinique, Channel, L'oreal, Clarins, Givenchy, MAC, NARS
For yellow undertones: MAC, shu umera, Bobbi Brown, Lancome, Prestige, Makeup forever
Re: foundation question
hey i have also some questions...should i use the concealer before the fondation or after..becoz after it looks too white...
and is is better to put foundation with sponge or brush... and if brush...wat kiind of brush
If u have dark marks.. apply it over foundation.. if it's light blemishes u may apply it before the foundation. If u're concealer looks "white" u're using the wrong color. It shud be an exact match. Cream foundations and liquid foundations shud be blended with u're fingers.. to warmth of u're fingers makes it easier to blend.
Blend really well!
Re: foundation question
oh ok thanks.. well i dont need a concealer hahaha...just a friend asked me how to apply!!
thanks again for ur help!
and can somebody advise me a good pencil eyeliner...i mean like a marker...
Re: foundation question
How can you tell whats your undertone? can u plz explain that?
If the veins on the inside of u're wrist appear blue then u're a "cool" skin tone, if they appear green, u're a "warm" skin tone.
Cool undertones are usually pale..with no color on the cheeks they shud avoid golds/yellow and red/bronze.
Warm undertones are tanned complexions..and should avoid maroon, silver
Re: foundation question
Thanx Gina, That helps!
Does it make a difference when choosing a foundation?
It's the most important part of choosing a foundation/concealer.. u don't want to look ashy or grey.
Re: foundation question
didn't understand ashy/grey? Sorry Gina u are talking to a person who knows enough to look normal with makeup but not too much details...:'( :(
Re: foundation question
I was watching a tansvestite pagent on TV. It was wicked.cool and the beauty-queens were applying something that made them alot paler. I want to be paler. The paler the better, not entirely because I have a complex, but I believe that my features pop more on a fairer canvas.
So, experts - what was it? I assumed it to be some sort of illuminator, but it was way too pale for that.
Re: foundation question
They use pancake stage makeup. I wouldn't recommend it though. It only works for stage, runway & shoots. It does not look natural in real life at all. Very cakey.
Mehwish, if u're wheatish and select a wrong shade.. u'll either look grey (cuz of the lighter foundation) or orangey (incase it's a darker foundation)
The pancake makeup can be spotted from miles.. it's not practical for everyday makeup..it's alright for photoshoots/runway/theater! A illuminisor will give u're skin a dewy finish.. and going "fairer" won't make u're features pop!
