No. Altaf was called from NY by the ex-dictator to organize a new party known as MQM to counter PPP in Sindh. Read my first post.
Which is a lie propagated by anti-MQM and other suspect sources. Ataf was never in NY or Chicago (city keeps changing in each version of this story) or anywhere else driving cabs. Everyone knows how APMSO was created and gave birth to MQM. No amount of links from unreliable internet sources will change the truth. Don't compare this to the well established role of ISI, Zia-ul-Haq, CIA, Wahabis in creating jihadism.
It doesn't even make any logical sense why some cab driver in the US would be especially called by the army to create a populist movement among mohajirs. It's so silly that it's not even worth a rebuttal.
