Foundation help

Hi guys…I need help deciding on which foundation to buy so Im nc42 and I used mac studio fix liquid foundation the color was perfect but it makes me breakout. Im deciding between estee lauder and bobbi brown but I’m scared that it might make me break out and I hears Estée Lauder makes ur skin look too caked..so what do u guys suggest?!

Re: Foundation help

Bobbi brown! Love it! Never broke out with it, used to break out with MAC studio fix. Bobbis skin finish foundation is awesome!!! Get a sample if you are unsure.

Re: Foundation help

I'd choose Bobbi Brown or Lancome

Re: Foundation help

Bobbi Brown!!!!!

I also like Nars Sheer Glow foundation

Re: Foundation help

I love Nars Sheer Glow

Re: Foundation help

Estee Lauder does look cakey on the skin. I'd say Bobbi Brown

Re: Foundation help

Hey sis!

Everyone's skin is different and reacts differently. You should apply it to a part of your skin to test it out first. You can ask for samples at the store.

If you must buy.. out of the two you mentioned, I would consider Bobbi Brown!

Let us know how it worked out!

Re: Foundation help

thank u so much guys for all of your views....im defintetly going to try Bobbi Brown also i did go to the counter the lady tried it on me and told me im the shade 4.5 so i will go bac and get the bobbi brown foundation also one more question the lady who helped me with the shade she was paki she told me to get the stick foundation and its better than the liquid foundation what do u guys think???which one is better???

Re: Foundation help

my shade is 4.25/Natural Tan. I have sampled the liquid foundation which I love but I want to try the stick too. I've heard rave reviews on it...will probably be my next makeup purchase!

Foundation help

Bobbi brown foundation stick is amazing but unfortunately i odered a darker shade :-(..

Re: Foundation help

I've heard nice things about Nars Sheer Glow too actually...is it full or sheer coverage?

Stick...make sure you get the stick.

They also have touch up sticks which are smaller portable tubes you can just carry around with you. I like the pigmentation of them and coverage but they don't have a lot of staying power IMO.

Re: Foundation help

raania and mary, is bobbi brown available in Lahore ?

Re: Foundation help

it's a sheer, buildable coverage

Re: Foundation help

Shopping fan it is available at al fatah and a few others stores but I would not risk getting it from here, ask anyone travelling from abroad to get it for you. Even getting it from the shops at Dubai airport is a safer option, ask anyone passing from there. I am not sure about numbers but I used warm natural shade for 3 years but decided to get natural this time round since I use a shimmer brick bronzer too.
I have always used the skin finish liquid foundation and I'm more comfy using that rather than the stick.

Re: Foundation help

Thanks, raania. I'll proly buy it myself next time I am abroad. Does BB has shades that are not warm or how do I put it, not giving u that sun kissed look. I have redness on cheeks and chin etc(rosaea) and currently I am using Clarins skin illusion radiance liquid foundation . After a while my face looks "orangy/ tan ". Although its lightweight and smooth but I dislike how it makes my face overly radiant.

Re: Foundation help

Why didn’t I just look at the name of the foundation? :smack: thank youuuu!

Re: Foundation help

BB has one of the largest shade ranges I have ever seen...chances of you finding a good match are high. They have different lines but the stick should not be giving you a sun kissed look. The stick is full coverage and gives a natural finish...its not glowy.

Re: Foundation help

Reha, thanks for ur reply. U have suggested stick for op , would u recommend it for me as well? My skin is oily. I mean, between liquid and stick?

Re: Foundation help

Bb liquid foundation is water based and very light, for summers set it with some loose powder and you're good to go.

Re: Foundation help

if you are worried about breaking out you can mix it with your favourite moisturizer to make it tinted moisturizer which is gentler on the skin. i recently bought mac's matchmaster foundation. i have a shine control moisturizer from yves rocher that i use every morning. i started taking a little moisturizer with half a pump of foundation and mixing it together and applying that to my face (after my face wash/toner routine). it makes my face glow and it's not making my skin bad. if anything i feel my skin looking healthier even after i take it off at the end of the day. if you need light coverage then this is perfect for everyday use.
