foundation and makeup question??

Re: foundation and makeup question??

mineral powder suggestions needed???????????? grlsss???????

Re: foundation and makeup question??

is mineral powder s different from pressed powder?

Re: foundation and makeup question??

The natural look is achieved by assuring that your foundation is an exact match to your skin tone. The 'bad flash' effect is often due to the foundation being a touch too light than the actual skin tone.

Before buying your foundation, make sure to get a sample and wear it for a full day. Then take a quick pic of yourself at the end of the day to see how your foundation looks on you in the photo.

If you're getting the white ghost look, get one shade darker.

Re: foundation and makeup question??

u all grls are so helpfull hugss

Re: foundation and makeup question??

The best idea is to get only one shade lighter than your original skin tone...if its an exact match to you there would be no purpose of using it.

Re: foundation and makeup question??

what purpose ? we're not talking about halloween

Re: foundation and makeup question??

Laura Mercier loose mineral foundation is the best ever and it IS an mineral powder indeed. most make up brands claim their product is mineral but they only have like 5% of minerals in them and the rest is just the usual cr** they put in cosmetics.

Re: foundation and makeup question??

mineral powder can be loose or pressed.

Re: foundation and makeup question??

Consult some beautician to know the purpose. I wont be able to explain something for Halloween to your interest.

Re: foundation and makeup question??

don't blindly believe everything the beautician say, especially if you can't explain the purpose...anyways back to the subject hum
a lot of the times, it's very hard find a perfect match for our skins because we have so much yellow/olive tones, and the vast majority of make up brands are french, so they tend to make foundations that have more pink in them and they don't suit us. a lot of women don't even realize that their foundation shade is completely off so try to apply in natural sunlight so you really see if it blends in your natural colour.
i would say mac and bobbi brown are the only two brands where you can be certain to find a perfect match.

Re: foundation and makeup question??

The purpose of foundation is to cover any imperfections and give the skin a glow...NOT to lighten the skin. Instead, you can use a highlighter to brighten those areas that naturally catch the light (nose, cheekbones, forehead, chin).

Re: foundation and makeup question??

I agree, a lot of foundations on the market have a pinkish tone so MAC and Bobbi Brown for the win!!

Re: foundation and makeup question??

i think there's a misconception among a lot of desis that foundation is for making you more gora. once my sister told me that i don't need foundation because i'm already fair... i was confused like ???? no, i use it to even out my skin and hide those horrible freckles on my nose.

using a lighter foundation will actually make you look really gray and that's scary people... especially if you're quite dark

Re: foundation and makeup question??

What do you say about the Makeup forever/Nars/Laura mercier?? I thought they did major yellow/olive toned foundation?!!!!

Re: foundation and makeup question??

I mentioned mac and bobbi brown because they're more accessible worldwide and i can guarantee you'll find a match.
obviously other brands also make yellow/neutral toned foundations but the variety is not as large.
personally i use Laura mercier mineral powder and MUFE's face and body but I know you can't find these brands in a lot of countries so i didn't want to mention them :)
I don't have a colour that matches me with Nars and i really want the MUFE HD foundation but it's either too orange or light. Foundation is expensive so i believe it's not worth it if it doesn't look 100% right on you

Re: foundation and makeup question??

Nausheen & Princess121 thank you both very much for your input on dry skin :)

Re: foundation and makeup question??

From what I've heard from beauticians they actually advise customers to get a shade SLIGHTLY darker than your face. Most of them will try to match it with your neck area, not on your hands. This is to get an even look. Plus, you don't want to have a gora/white face while your neck is a whole different color and look like a clown. :)
