A few years ago, I read some articles about the need for Muslim Foster Parents/Homes in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). My husband and I have discussed it, and we really want to get involved when we move back to Toronto (we are currently living in the states for his work, but will inshAllah move back to Toronto in about 5/6 years).
I was wondering if anyone here is a foster parent, or has any more information about being a foster parent?
Apparently there are many muslim children in foster care, and they are being put in homes where there is obviously no muslim influence.
I know that every child in foster care deserves a loving home, but I feel that helping a muslim child in foster care have a muslim environment is also very important.
Does anyone have any information on becoming a foster parent? and how do you go about letting them know that you are interested in having muslim children in your home?
