We changed at 7 months cuz he outgrew the baby seat and also, those 7 months were brutal. Non stop crying…even with me in the back didnt help nor did any toys. He since then has been sitting in a fwd facing car seat and the change is magic…much more happy baby, happy parents!!!

Waissay out of interest does it depend on wieght then more than age?

I might be getting a car seat soon so this is all very helpfull.

The recommendations say to keep them rear facing till maybe 2 years of age if they are comfortable as it has proved to be the safest. We will upgrade to a convertible car seat only because at the moment our infant seat is proving too small for our 11 month old,about 18-19 pounds. I would like to keep her rear facing for a while but the problem is that she cries non stop these days in her car seat…!! She is a happy baby MA otherwise and car rides are the only time she fusses and fusses unless she can see us.
