I wanted to ask how does the forum moderation work or if there is any forum moderation at all?
I am not a regular here but in the recent days I have seen quite a few instances of people engaging in insulting and derogatory behaviour and getting away with it.

GS is all about the posters. They are the true asset of this forum and without them nothing is possible. Mods are just the same posters but doing some extra work without any reward.
Xoas, whats expected here is that when someone logs in GS, they act and behave as a mature and adult person. They speak their mind out but yea keeping the forum rules and respect of other posters as well. If they dont, they are nudged and sometimes infractions are issued as well ultimately leading to ban.
But at the same time, we dont want posters to feel choked or haunt them away. So there are times when some of the low level remarks are let go in a hope that the poster will correct themselves (again imagining that they are mature people).
And it has happened that many posters showed erratic behavior in the heat of the moment but later on they corrected themselves and become a active part of this community.
Now one thing to be kept in mind is that GS moderators are doing a volunteer job and are also regular posters. They cannot be online all the time. They have their personal lives as well. So if someone is bothered or offended by any comment. there is a yellow "caution" button in the end of each post which says "Report post" if you hover your mouse over it. Please report the offensive post and mods will surely take care of it.
All these mods are still doing a great job. Its very easy to criticize. But if someone has any doubt, feel free to join us and you'll know how it goes. Ultimately, you just cant make everyone happy.

The reason I asked was that I moderated a forum too but it seems the rules are much lax here. It's okay. Different places different riles. . :)
