LK, the two companies that come to my mind are Freddie Mac (FRE) and Countrywide Financial Corp (CFC). I am 100% sure that FRE is fortune 500, but not about CFC. For that you will have to go to fortune.com and check out the 500 list.
As I am not sure what kind of report you have to write, I will give you a few resources to check out. The best would be to go to CBSmarketwatch.com, and go to research and tools. Type in the ticker symbol and you will find the company profile, performance charts, analyst recommendations, all financial reports, latest news, insider trading action and a lot more.
