This is hilarious.
Cloths..... are fine. But it's not the package, or the gift wrapper... but the object inside that's important. So i guess, you won't like to over kill urself, or on the contrary, just have everything flashing right infront of his nose. So decency is me likey.

i understand what your saying & i agree.
but sadly this world that we live in, nobody gives a whoot about "whats inside"...
When a guy comes over to see u its best to be dressed as if your going to a formal dinner... desi dinner lol so like a nice simple shalwar kameez... not sumthing u wud lounge about and use as PJ's lol and id always wear a hint of makeup like normal foundation, blusher, kohl and maybe mascara and/or eyeliner at the top.
I didnt wear eyeliner when i first had to see my fiance, i wore new clothes (they wudnt know that tho lol) i didnt want them to think i made a huge effort so tried keeping evrything played down a little
as far as jewlerry goes, the normal rings that i wear and small earrings
Personally i always think its best to dress modestly with and effort if u know what i mean lol

you should always dress up nice and modestly, dont just dress up for the guy but for yourself.
ps. i am sure you dont wana be biased and make your future husband conclude that this was all drama, other wise in real life you really are a "choori" :p
lol true^
so im just wondering..since i havent had any serious rishtas come to my house to check me out YET.. how does this thing work? do you put a dupatta on ur head and walk up to them with a tray of chai? lol or is it really laid back and not-so-intimidating as they make it seem on tv?
make sure ur wearing at least what u wud normally wear evryday
Like i wudnt like my inlaws to see blemishes on my face damn straight they gotta get covered up people!!
and i never leave the house without kajal
anyways pinklove its not always that way.. i met at a restaurant with my fiance and father in law. They took us out to dinner
It just depends on what suits both parties i suppose. Thank god i didnt have to do the chai thing i would of been laughing whilst bringing it in.. I cant keep a straight face when things like that happen lol
Nice and simple shalwar kameez...nothing too flashy or dressy. Small earrings or studs with a ring or two. Keep the make up simple and basic. You arent going to a party...you're going to a see if YOU like the guy just as much as he will like you.
why dont women just dress the way they would normally dress on a day to day basis? ok fine! if your day to day attire is sweats n a tee maybe you can wear something a tad bit nicer but nothing too out of the ordinary.
Wouldnt you want the guy to see you in your normal attire? Why would you want to make him think that you dress in a certain way when you dont? for instance on very rare occassions do I wear shalwar kameez....why on earth would I wear this and go meet a guy? isnt this kinda misleading him and his family?
Wear something decent but stick to the style you are accustomed to. Dont be fake in the way you dress...if you dont normally wear make up ....then dont put it on when you meet him. **
Let him see the REAL you. The way he will see you everyday....**if you end up marrying him.

I wear shalwar kameez on a day to day basis... Dont wear jeans while im at home. Since i was in pakistan thats all i would wear. I can understand if shalwar kameez isnt a clothing that u wear regularly then i suppose its kool to show what u would normally wear but some pakistani families would expect to see a bahu to be dressed modestly thats why i suggested shalwar kameez
personally i wouldn't like my inlaws to see me dressed up in jeans and what not. I dont like to be in it whilst im around my elders, they prefer me to be in shalwar kameez its the way ive been brought up
On the other hand we went to see a rishta for my brother recently and the girl was in jeans and a kurta, they wern't regular wearers of shalwar kameez so it was understandable. She was still dressed modestly though.
I assumed shadowless was a regular shalwar kameez wearer thats why i suggested it
i suppose at the end of the day it depends on what ur ghar ka mahol is like and what you feel is appropriate. Its always best to show the real you, but just coz ur in asian clothes on the day doesn't give the inlaws the right to assume ur always in them especially if ur living in UK or America.
And i do agree with you on the makeup part... if you dont normally wear it then dont, but whatever you do normally wear, its probably a good idea to keep it that way.
