Re: Former US President Clinton gives Karachi a clean ‘bill’ of health.
thats true but didnt the same happen to bombay in the rain showers a couple of years ago when the entire city drowned
but no one is calling bombay a slum?
many companies are moving there to set up operations
read up a featured article on National Geographic Magazinze (ill find you the link) from a few months ago. there are several large parts of the city of mumbai that are slums, well below the poverty line. the divide between rich and poor is quite evident in the city

Right you are. It now a biggest Bhanghi Parha of the world. From cleanliness, mixing of drinking water to sewers, traffic jams every where, pollution, etc on the top is a safe haven for criminals like MQM the Buthers. Comparing NY to Karachi is comparing gadhay with ghorhay.

All this being true, we still have people from all over Pakistan who keep on migrating to Karachi. There areas must be worse than slums.

Business and GDP can make Faisalabad a one of the top cities too, but sadly thats not how it is… Here is how Karachi was ranked a few years ago in the best cities to live in:

^ Apparently you forgot to see where Karachi is ranked, ranked below Dhakka! LOL!
I already saw where Karachi was. But when most modern Pakistani city is ranked below Ho Chi Ming, Hanoi, and Colombo, that was no surprise. It's like two beggars fighting.

Re: Former US President Clinton gives Karachi a clean ‘bill’ of health.
Come on man, in the 80s and 90s Islamabad was pretty decent, it was clean, green, crime free, quiet, amazing weather, planned, decent roads, mountains, you name it it had everything... im still in touch with alot of foriegners, who went to school with me and their parents were ambassadors/dig and they still recall how much they loved living in islamabad... its still the best place in pakistan to live in by a long shot, but certainly not as good as it used to be after they started cutting down the trees and expanding it... Property has sky rocketed there, we had bought cheap plots in F-11, and E-11 in the early 80s and we were shocked as to how much it had gone up in the last 20 years...
