It shows his lack of cricketing acumen, someone who thinks limited overs performances (3-3 if you include T20)** somehow compensate for abysmal test performances.** He’s totally disregarding the pathetic batting performance in tests, the main reason why we could not compete with SA in tests. Bowlers, by & large, did ok but I would have played Rehman in all three tests instead of the useless nonperforming third seamer, Wahab or Gul.
Irfan, Junaid, Ajmal and Rehman should have been our test attack with parttimer Hafeez complementing them.
