Format of ICC Champions Trophy

They really have dumb Format.

12 teams divided in 4 groups. 3 teams in each group out of which one is a minnow.

One team from each group qualifies for semifinal.

So basically one match in each group between etablished team will become Quarter final.Meaning 2 matches in each group ( total 8 matches) will be meaningless. We all know who will win those 8 matches.

Whats the point of having such a tournmant where we play 15 matches out of which only 6-6 are meaningful.

Why cant ICC champions Trophy be same as Hockey Champions Trophy where only top 6 teams will participate based on ICC ranking. Each team plays against each other and then top 2 go to final.
Total No of matches are still : 16.
This will make this tournament Yummy !!!

Your thoughts ?

One practice match and one quarter final. I guess they still have that crappy bonus point thingy in this tournament to add to the fun mix.

I have no complaints.

By the way, one correction. You said "One team from each group qualifies for final." In reality, one team from each group will qualify for the semi-final. The two winners of the semi-finals will play the final.
