Hey,
this has been circling my head for a while,
Lets see what all of you have to say about this,
you know we always ask God for forgiveness but end doing the same thing again and again.
Sometimes those things are huge and you really want to stop committing those sins like being a habitual liar.
You ask for tawbah and stay constant at not lieing for say some months but then you lie again and then you realize that you’ve been asking for forgiveness for so long yet you still end up committing the sin,
But you’re scared of your duaas and wishes of being at stake and you ask for forgiveness.
So my question is, how do you stop yourself from committing that sin.
How do you make sure you wont continue it after some months
and how do you make your tawbah truthful and authentic.

One of the traits of Momineen is tawabin/Taibeen.
Distance your self from bad gatherings(people who say use to lie or do gheebat a lot)

I always keep a thing in my mind that if i'm willing to do a sin than I should find that place where is no God. There are many ways i.e. pray namaaz regularly including nafls namaaz, read Qur'an and Hadith, fast (roza) on different days, everytime recite tasbeeh (Astagfaar, Subhanallah etc.,)

Although I probably should give this advice to myself before to anyone else, but I think being aware( esp. when you are sinning) Allah is watching, or what's called "Taqwa"....You won't be able to give up on any bad habit over night... but start somewhere...esp. when it comes to lying. Think, what's the worst that can happen if you are lying. Fear Allah, tell the truth, and your path shall be easy. inshaAllah....
