forget about Why

Re: forget about Why

^ exactly..

there are quite a few muslim leaders down here in OZ speaking up about the bombings and saying Islam does not support such acts.. thats what more people should start doing. Muslims should go out and shout out that this is not what Islam is about.. most of us are calm and peaceful people..

there is a difference between extremists and mainstream...

Re: forget about Why

realistically speaking, how many of us go to mosques five times a day regularly? how many of us are practicing muslims?even the defination of practicing muslims vary from person to person. we do, however, go to schools and universities religiously. yes mosques comes before schools and unis but unfortunately it doesnt happen that way in real life.

Re: forget about Why

In real life those who don't go to mosques ..don't feel strong about religion anyways. They are not the ones getting brainwahsed nor they have the desire to leave this world for the unknown. They are much happy with the materialism this world has to offer.

A belief system channeled in the wrong direction could lead to disastrous consequences...hence the responsibility of the scholars to guide people towards positive spirituality.
I expect molvies in Pakistan and other third world countries to come forward more than anyone else. I remember attending khutbas in Pakistan. They spew hatred for the West before Juma namaz. Sometimes, it literally boils your blood.

WTG Suroor…:k:…I know I sound sacrastic at times, but I really mean it this time…

I believe a serum must be invented that would counter the effects of the ‘Fundamentolus extremetococci’…

After that a thorough ‘basic indoctrination’ of the mind to purge the demons that make someone question the superpowers…

And to make sure that everybody remains happy even after witnessing what goes in the world and be at ease with the status quo…

We can live with the genocide of the Iraqis, but we cannot stand the backlash if someone retaliates…

I would say if your loved one or someone close is affected with the 'Can’t take anymore innocent lives being devastated" syndrome, to shoot them in the heart…

Obviously the pain of others starts in heart…

Re: forget about Why

These are the kinds of lines that are misleading. Derailing from the challenges we have at hand.

Nobody in his right mind is OK or LIVING with genocide in Iraq. The backlash on civilians is uncalled for!

Re: forget about Why

the teachings of tolerance should not only be limited to the people of Islamic faith. it should be in the churches, mandirs and other religious institutions as well. teach them how to respect the religious beliefs of each other. teach them how to live with these differences.
if u keep hearing ' that islam is an axis of evil' from authorities, it will only lead to more hatered and misunderstandings between the communities.

Re: forget about Why

Right, there are a million other things that Bush has said that shouldn't be tolerated. Does that mean we continue this vicious cycle? That's not smart. We won't tolerate until you do?

Gandhi won independence through his tolerance... It didn't make him less of a man. It's time to use our heads not bombs.

Re: forget about Why

We can live with the genocide of the Iraqis, but we cannot stand the backlash if someone retaliates...

Obey the law of your land - that's what Islam says, right? So, if you are against what is happening in Iraq, go for peaceful protests. Talk to people and explain why you think the war is wrong. Write articles, for the pen is your strongest weapon. Get involved in politics, and raise your children to get involved in politics in the western country you live in, so that you can make an impact. Go to Iraq yourself, and do some newsreporting there as a journalist to show the world what is going on there.

There are lots of options to help Iraqi muslims live a normal life. Bombing yourself up along with a few other random Westerners among whom are muslims also, and all who are innocent is accomplishing exactly what?

Re: forget about Why

No one has said "Islam is an axis of evil". Where are you getting that from?

Its usually "X is an axis of evil", and X being some leader or some muslim country. Don't tell me its the same, because no muslim country is following Islam anyway.

Re: forget about Why

How do you stop it again? The answer isn't that simple as shopping your friends or relatives, if you read the press, even the perpetrators own family were completely shocked. It's all very well saying that these people are from our community but I don't know anyone who's a potential suicide bomber...do you?

As far as personal responsibility goes, I don't need to be told by the government or local elders what they are. And Iqbal Sacranie and various other muslim spokesman can **** right off to be frank. What anyone with any sense would impress on 'our community' is that fighting battles in England for what is going on in Palestine or Iraq is not our job. We need to see less bearded nincompoops or hijabans on tv and more ordinairy folk, doing ordinairy things.

The British media needs to play a role as well. While we have heard all about the grief of families of both the bombers and the victims, people who are getting caught up in the backlash are being sidelined. The man who was beaten to death by a mob in Nottingham...would be nice to hear from his family too.

Re: forget about Why

start with “every religion is the same..No religion is special…common religous affiliation doesn’t mean common social and economic goals…the country we live is is our home…it is not they vs. us..it is us…” baby steps, baby steps.. :flower1:

Re: forget about Why

find the root cause, you can not just stop branches to grow!

Re: forget about Why

^^^do you think its too late for that

Re: forget about Why

its a lovely thought Pinny but is it possible…humans are natural egotists they have for millenia felt that they were better than their fellow humans due to certains factors in their life, religion, money, power

Re: forget about Why

According to this defination probably 70% of theMuslim population wud fall under this category.

Re: forget about Why

no, but they will grow again!

Re: forget about Why

Do we have a ‘final solution’ to this menace?

Re: forget about Why

Religious wars are being waged since eternity, why wud they stop now? Thing is the world has become far too much relaxed with its stable 9-5 job security and dont want to see it being distracted. Wars will happen, bad things do happen, mankind needs to assert itself in various forms.

There is no final solution, had there been one mankind wud hv found it by now. What we the educated ppl can do is try to minimize the damage and build bridges so humanity can find places to talk and agree on different issues.

Re: forget about Why

If we are sincere in not wanting it to happen again then we can’t “forget about why”, you can’t ignore the root causes, I know this has been said time and time before but western powers have created situations in the Muslim world which are used by terrorist organisations to recruit people into terrorism, (whether these terrorist organisations are also a creation of western powers is a different topic), Muslims (or our religion) are not inherently terrorist but when the situation of our coreligionists is used as a tool to recruit Muslims (especially those not well versed in religion) into terrorism then it works very well…

Revenge is their only motivation, they see it as a vendetta which if not do much will at least soothe their own perosnal angers and frustrations.

…You can’t expect Muslims to be insensitive towards their brethren in faith in Iraq, Afghanistan or Palestine that just isn’t possible whilst we’re Muslim, as much contempt as I may show for Muslims of other ethnicities based on their actions deep down I feel a really strong bond with them and I wouldn’t want their bad, that’s the result of Islam and this sentiment can easily be abused in ignorant people by terrorists…

…If people want this to not happen again they can…

1] Help educate our younger generation on the true Islam (and show them terrorism towards innocents has no place in Islam).

2] Do their bit to put things right in the Muslim world (till that happens there will always be a tool available to be abused by terrorists).

3] Or if all that’s too much to ask then they can all vote for the BNP and hope all Muslims will get deported or massacred (like has happened to native Muslims in other western predominantly-Christian countries by the majorities).

4] Concentrate your efforts on moving us away from Islam and hence brotherly sentiments towards coreligionists, it's an age old trick used against Muslims, most notably in Muslim spain to destroy them, use every unIslamic mean possible like is happening in Pakistan, take adult channels on dish for example in England we have to pay big bucks for them but in Pakistan all these hot adult American channels are free, ever wonder why? It's another attempt at deIslamifying Muslims.
