We the Pakistanis (of which I am too a part and include myself) are too prejudice and extremists. We hardly have in any matter judicious, balanced and honest thinking. If we like Nawaz, he is pious and angle in our eyes and he can not have any human bad habit. If we dislike Bhutto, he/she is he worst person, all her/his habits are dirty and he/she can not have any good in the life. Its example is it is well know that 100% rickshaws in Karachi Lahore have rigged meter. Not a single meter is working according to prescribed rate. Every one knows this and has experienced. They all know 100% rickshaw drivers are dishonest and each has once or twice have faced humiliation and over charging.. But see the mentality when ever passing one sees a policeman challaning a rickshaw driver the reaction of public invariably is “this Tulla is taking bribe from Ghareeb poor rickshawdriver”. This reaction is despite knowing in police still there are quite a good number of honest policemen and office but none in rickshaw drivers.

Edhi recently imported some vehicles for inclusive in his ambulance service and CBR has perhaps not exemption those from payment of duties and taxes. Edhi has allegedly and reportedly threatened to do away with his ambulance service if these vehicles are not exempted from such payments. Edhi has in the past too on occasion threatened to stop this and that if this or that was done or was not stopped.

Edhi is not merely in Pakistan as some do think. There are Edhis in every country. Some come out some remain behind. But in other countries Ehdis do not take their humanitarian services rendered as exemption certificates from rules of the country. In foreign country if Edhi there intends to increase the number of vehicles in his ambulance service he does not first import on public money and then start threating if duty was charged. Foreign Edhis first under the law of their country approach their CBR or Finance Division applying for exemption and on getting it then place orders for import. The fact is our Pakistani CBR or Finance Division is always co-operative for such services but where Edhis adopt proper standard procedures and does not deliberately try to first import and then demand exemption to earn public political sympathies.

So?

When every lullu panju , 22 grade officer , major, brig, gen and political leaders can bring in the cars without paying Taxes & Duty without any problem why does it hurt you when someone working for people do this? Why CBR creates hurdles in the way when it comes to Edhi or someone else working for people do it?

We never even heard that any political leaders/Army Officers been granted exemption and mind you this does not mean that they don’t import vehicles duty free, in fact they do and list was long when it was brought up in National Assembly once.

people love to criticize any one who they think is doing good because they feel jealous of him and want to bring him down to their level. usual crap from useless people.
i was once told not to give money to edhi because some orphans ran away from edhi run centers and it means the edhi is abusing those orphans....and the worst part is that for the time being, i caved into the propaganda.
