I’ve heard that WES is accepted internationally, including the U.S.

Re: Foreign Degree Evaluation..

yeah Lucid, I was leaning more towards this too but my only reason was the locality in Northeast where we would be applying for schools so probably universities here would recommend them as well.

Thanks for helping to decide!

Re: Foreign Degree Evaluation..

My family has used Josef Silny & Associates. They are located in Miami, they are accredited, have decent rates, and good service.

I was going to recommend WES as well. My husband had his degrees evaluated by them. They do a pretty fair job in evaluation and is recognized in most places/institutions. My Hubz had went to Board of Education for something and they recommended for us to go here.

Re: Foreign Degree Evaluation..

Lusi.. I checked the website and it costs $75.00 more for an engineering degree to be evaluated than WES.. I hope I will have a good experience with the company.

Afro.. thanks for the recommendations.. we have decided to go with WES as well.. now we just need to get the photocopies attested from Higher Education Commission in Pakistan before we send it to them. Thanks for your input. :-)

Re: Foreign Degree Evaluation..

Salman and I actually had a bad expierence with this evaluation process.
We went and got all his degrees evaluated from one place and the shcool that he wanted to get into said that they needed it to be redone from a specific place.

So depending on what the purpose is; I would hang off a bit.

^ that is right. If the degree evaluation is for educational purpose I would contact the school admissions office. They usually have a approved list of degree evaluation sources.

Re: Foreign Degree Evaluation..

Muniya and Bebo.. we don't know yet.. we are considering school/work whatever we get first.. we are getting degree evaluation done for just our own peace of mind and to get an idea about the status of BS in Chemical Eng. from UET.. my husband has already compared courses on his own at different universities websites and it seems like the difference is only for a subject or two so just want the official say on that.

In a nut shell, if it's equivalent to BS here, then he will apply for Masters and if the school wants to get it done from a different company- we will just get it re-done but so far WES looks like the recommended company for lots of schools in the US.

In the meanwhile, he is gonna apply for jobs too since he does have a three-four years of experience in a multi national company in Pakistan so that may help him to secure an entry level position here and then masters later, may be!

WES is definitely the best choice... that's what i used myself.

Re: Foreign Degree Evaluation..

***I sent mine to the WES and i'm still waiting for them to evaluate and credential but I think they seem the most professional and they deliver within a week within the US as far as I know once they have recieved all the required documents.

They keep you updated on the progress with email reminders which is helpful.
