Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

Children are killing themselves either from a fear of parents or teachers, these incidents are increasing…

wht is happening, parents have failed to understand their kids, fears, worries, they don know their state of mind or wht’s bothering them?

is their a gape between the kid and parents?that kids have started taking their lives instead of sharing htheir personal problems with their parents?

**ABBOTTABAD: “I really loved this world but because I don’t want to stay at hostel, I am committing suicide” are the last words of a class 7 student Abdul Mobeen, who killed himself after his family forced him to stay at hostel to continue his studies here in a school at Abbottabad.**In his last letter to his mother, Mobeen said that he hates staying in hostel and advised not to admit his siblings to any hostel.“Mom do come at my grave but please don’t cry a lot” little Mobeen wrote. He also informed about his personal diary which he left in his cub board and told his Mom to read that diary. The family members of Mobeen on Tuesday showed that diary to media in which he has written how his teachers are not allowing him to meet his family members.Mobeen also wrote in his diary that his teachers degrade him in front of other students on minor issues.Mobeen’s death has shocked his family members who said that they never thought their son would react like this.

Karachi: Student commits suicide after getting fail in test**

Karachi: The incidents of committing suicide by students after depressed from their studies and behavior of school administration, continued on Tuesday as a student of class six has committed suicide by hanging himself in Paposh Nagar area of Karachi.****The DSP North Nazimabad Abdul Rasheed told media that the student committed suicide after being failed in the test of the school.“Although the matter is obvious that he has committed suicide but the police is still investigating on the other options,” he said.It is to be mentioned here that a student of seventh class in Abbottabad committed suicide over ill-treatment in school and hostel while in other incident thirteen-year old student of class six Umer, who tried to commit suicide by self-immolation after getting dismissed from his school by the Headmaster of a school over non-attendance, succumbed to his burn injuries.

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

I wonder if it’s always been common for children to contemplate suicide or are they more strongly influenced today by what they see on the media, internet etc? I can’t imagine the amount of pressure/fear the kids must have felt and who knows they may even have been physically abused… but still this concept of children having suicidal thoughts and actually committing suicide just seems surreal to me. I remember reading an article on a voluntary organization in Dublin, Pieta House, that works to prevent self harm… it stated that they get 5-10 child patients every week, the youngest ever being a 7 year old :bummer: How does a 7 year old even think of killing himself?

I agree, these incidents are increasing, yesterday two other cases came out one I hv posted above, some say that Media is responsible of showing these things, kids see and they get inspired, others say that Media is telling wht's happening n educating parents n society to give attention to wards their child's mental health... The above case of Abdul mubeen he told his parents that he's not happy in hostel, also told her mom about the environment that he don like,he was not happy going back,he toled his father he has been badly beaten by his English teacher.....I mean Wht kinda parents are these who let these things happen to their kids, they should hv a listened the boy, should hv askf the teacher who beaten him badly, this kid writes a diary, writes his feeling n Wht ever he faces n parents don hv a clue!

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

This is really sad, I don't it's social pressure, abuse, media or all of them playing roles in it, but kids are not suppose to be sad, they are suppose to be happy and carefree.

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

Sad :(

. I think parents need to play their role, times hv changed they need to change their attitudes towards their kids...

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

what about education system in pakistan? does it need any changes to reduce the pressure ?

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

Parents are biggest factor here, they need to understand what their child is going through, that's the big mistake parents make. They just take kids for granted, never realizing what is going wrong in their child's life.

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

May be, schools should focus on bullying laws.

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

This is the indication of the fact that we need to change our system of education and our thinking.the competitive approach from the very start puts alot of pressure and burden on the kids and that being a doctor, engineer, mba or CA is the only success. Alot of kids in Pakistan have such tight schedules that there is no leisure time for them. My nieces come back from school and get ready for their quran class, after quran class its homework time, after homework its tuitions. I remember that from grade 7 to 10 i was told that just get into a good college and then u can be as carefree as u want. After garde 10, for two years it was just get on the merit list of falan falan university and then you can stop worrying about your carrier. in the university it was just pass the university years and then you can chill. That relaxing....chillaxing time never came, it was one thing after another, one goal after another.

I remember when i was in grade ten, some 12 years back, a kid in my class shot himself, reason being he came from a family of doctors and engineers, being the youngest he was supposed to follow his siblings steps. He was not allowed to play, even if you call at his house to talk to him his father will give him only five minutes on phone thinking that its a time waster. It all ended up in him blowing up his brains.

. Our education is in great need of rescue since long back...but Wht abt the pressure created by the teachers bad behavior n beatings?this kid was humiliated by the teacher only for speaking Urdu in class, the teacher scolded, beat him took his mothers picture from his pocket then the kid started to cry,his mates are telling abt his thoughts of ending his life if sent again to hostel, why parents didn't knew?

I agree wid u ...Wht ever the situation may be parents are the ones who simplify their problems..

May be, schools should focus on bullying laws.

.few days back they showed a vdo on Geo that how a boy was badly beaten by his mates in school, they made the vdo n uploaded it..

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

Very sad. Generally, I have always spoken against physical violence against children in Pakistan's school system. Be it madrassa or these schools..teacher thinks..they've got full license to do whatever they want. And as a victim of severe abuse..i can tell ya..there is so much ya can take. But what this boy did was not right either. Taking his precious life away wasn't smart thing to do..but ya know Parents should have listened and not probably forced him.

Re: Forced to stay at hostel: Student of class 7 took his life ..

parents are one part of problem, there are other things like bullying going in schools too. We need to change education system too.

. Yes ur rite I think both playing a role in this situation, our education system n patents they hv turned their kids into donkeys wid their backs full of books, they force their kids so much that they endup committing suicide ...India hv learned a lot with the film Tarai Zamme Per not all kids are genius so let them live their childhood wich meant to be carefree...

. He use to write dairy because parents were not able to understand him, here there was no issue abt not studying well,he was bullied by his teacher..he wrote in his dairy that I love my life, but I don wanna go back to hostel....from his writings I assume that the kid was intelligent bright thoughtful he knew that suicide is bad wich he mention in his writing but jus think that if He knew all then Why he committed suicide?his mental condition was so bad that he took his life :(
