How long?
Look at the point where the rest of the world is, and we are still stuck in the pit. Alright if Im rude, correct me and justify. There are atleast two threads I read today here about the same topic and how it does ruin oner person or both, for a while or for good. And I want the think tank of GS please come and share is it really such an evil as it looks like to me? Ofcourse Im not refering to arrange marriages, I hope we know the difference between arranged and forced. Discuss

I hve personally never seen someone close go thru this so at times i really wonder if all these stories are as accurate as they are shared. Because 1) i dnt understand how parents can be so cruel . 2) howcome at first the kid gives in to pressure but later go back 2 his/her way of life by getting in touch with the ex-lover. 3) sometimes even the other family knows abt it but they still go ahead with the marriage, WHY?
it's really confusing.

1) Parents dont think they are being "cruel". In their head they think they are doing the "best" for their kids, its just that the kid just doesnt understand what's good for them. :/
2) Kid might not want to disobey his/her parents plus they might think hey this just might workout. Unforunately they're proved wrong later on.

well there were such stories going on in L1 different threads that made me start a separate thread on it. You have raised very valid points Zareen. Obviously parents can never be so cruel. At one point or other, one of the parties has to give in. Now the question being: why to give in if you are going to regret later, upto the point of ending the marriage or living a life of frustration out and out?
