Mullah Nasruddin was as real as you or me…
Mullah Nasruddin was a Khalifa (Usmania) appointed judge and jurist in Turkey…
But what differentiated him was that he used his legendary wit and humour to deal with every issue and spread the message of Deen…He became a beloved of the people of his region and his fame grew…
One of his stories is that Hodja was sitting outside his house one time when a Christian came to him and aksed, ‘If I become Muslim, what will I get?’
Mullah Nasruddin replied, that since he himself was a Muslim, he has the power to call a mountain to himself…
So the Christian pointed to one of the mountains and said, call that one…
The Hodja tried three times but the mountain wouldn’t budge…
Suddenly the Hodja stood up and started walking towards the mountain…
The Christian was confused…He’s like, hey…Where are you going…
The Hodja replied, 'Well, I am a Muslim and Muslims are humble people…If the mountain won’t come to me, I’ll go to the mountain…"
The Christian was so amused, he reverted…
And there are hundreds of his stories which his family and friends kept of his adventures and sayings…
