For the Mods..

oh yeah once the red mist passes...which it usually does after about 3 minutes - so let's see...yup - time's up :)

red mist gone yet???????:)

aries, you should have directed the post towards Administrators who actually make such decisions. :)

Now, as per the polite request of Mr. X, the post is being moved to Feedback!

I would suggest that we use society, culture and literature forum and expand its use. That was meant to be a serious forum with a look into all these areas. Discussing philosophy, famous thinkers, etc etc would not only fit in nicely there but would enrich GS overall.

As our teeny boppers start maturing :) we would have options for them to discuss philosophy and the meaning of life there, poltics in world affiars, relgion and spirituality in relgion, career, educationa nd industry in careers section.

So lets start using it, and in time if the volume of discussions is such that it warrants a dedicated forum, that decision will be made then.

Thats my 2 paisa.

Culture forum and General can both be used for the moment. Both have been used succesfully in the past for such topics (I still remember the story of the cracked pot!).

The problem with splitting forums up into too many sections is that people then become too selective in visiting them meaning we miss out on the common man's views. Is that what we really want?

nia, pleeeeeeeeeeeaase don’t remind me of Plato!!! I had to read his texts in Greek!!!
what horrible days those were…btw I like his thoughts but not his language

Aries Chanda

You will have my blessings, keep the garam aaloo yourself. start posting some interesting threads, talk to the people you know who have similar interest.

I agree with Xtreme that both generala nd Soc/CUl can be used. I suggested soc cul because that has been sucessfully used in the past for more meaningful discussions, additionally your thread does not suffer from being buried behind 20 this n that sort of threads.

Aries, I will not be around much until Monday but will try to take part in these dicsussions etc. so start posting

PONDERINGS

we have begun something..if we wish to call it anything at all…its been named PONDERINGS…and I am hoping the standard can be maintained..its never easy to begin a difficult task and harder still to keep it going..I hope we can all get together under this one title and acieve some higher level of acievment…
pass the drinks please:smokin:

the venue is, as decided collectively, Culture/Society/Literature…jeez…

This is a rather good suggestion Aries.. i'm very interested to see the types of topics that will be open for discussion; 'fraid my study of philosophy is not that detailed as some of the other Guppies', but i would love to read what ever anyone has to contribute on this topic. Insha'Allah it will make the Culture Forum more informative and lively.

A good suggestion.
