for the man

Do you girls dress up for your husbands?

Do you try to look your best when your man is around?

During my first couple months of marriage, I would come home from work and change into shalwar kameez, put the jewelery on and some makeup. Now I come home and change into something comfy (definitely not shalwar kameez) and dont bother with the makeup.

I think I need to start looking pretty again.

I’m a hijabi, and really want to highlight/colour my hair into something drastic. But I’m waiting for a girl’s party where I could show it off, otherwise no one hardly sees my hair, and its always tied up at home…hubby thinks I should just do it anyways, at least he gets to see it.

Re: for the man

I'm not married yet, but inshallah will be soon. I will most likely be living with the in laws for a while so will have no choice but to wear something nice when I am at home. No more lazy days for me then :(

If you want your hair done just get it done. Do it for yourself and your hubby, i'm sure he'll appreciate it more than the girlies will :)

An old story of mine. I used to work with a lady whose husband loved when she had her hair colored. He said it was a gift to him. Why? He felt like her new hair color = new woman and it added variety or spice to their marriage

So I say go for it! Your audience of one will love it! :biggthumb:

Re: for the man

Afshi get your hair colored for your man, not just for the girlies! I used to dress up almost everyday because hubs appreciates it. Since we were blessed with K, i havent done a lot of dressing up but i try not to be in PJs when he gets home.

Re: for the man

I say go for the color Afshi.. if you want to show it off, call the girls over for a small tea-party kinda gathering ;)

As for your first question, yes I used to dress up quite regularly in the beginning but now it's more of an occasional thing.

Re: for the man

When we were newlyweds (we kinda still are, hasnt even been a yr since we got married lol) I loved to dress up for him when he came home from work :) I used get my hair done, put makeup on, wear his fave perfume and all that hoopla ..
Now that Im pregnant I feel like me just making a nice dinner is enough .. I just dont have the taaqat dressing up for him :( But whenever there's a party or a daavat I still manage to dress up :P
